Fell free to copy all Police & Stu material!

Since we, in south america, never have the chance to see (well, him were here in ´81, a long time ago) one of our favourite musician, who, I do not why, is engaged with italians now! Do they know something of music -the italians, I mean?
I have all the original material of the Police, I purchase, as many of south americans- T-shirts and original stuff like DVD´s and books. But, nevertheless, we still be ignored. The Rolling Stones? 12 shows in 3 visits... Roger Waters? 3 shows in 2 visits. U2? Pretty much the same. Stewart? Primus? I never saw them over here despite the fact that we consume...
So, feel free to download from the net and don´t pay a dime, ´cause if they ignore us, we can ignore them, right?

Hi angry user.

>Do they know something of music -the italians, I mean?
I wonder why Italians sells a lot in south america then...but anyway I don't feel like getting into discussion about your provocation, insted give you a little information about why Stewart got 'engaged' with Italian music.
Taranta is a traditional popular music from the south of Italy, rich of interesting rhythms, such an 'unkown' (to the rest of the world) culture that Stewart fell in love with; Stewart is always looking for interesting music cultures, maybe in the coming years he will discover some interesting stuff from your country and visit more often.

I also would like to remind you something:

- Sting often visits South America to play;

- Andy Summers comes every year to South America to play, while rarely we saw him in Europe in the last few year;

- Stewart and Andy had a project named Rush Hour. together with Stanley Clarke; they toured only South-America, a place that had the exclusivity of such an interesting project, as they never toured anywhere else.

As to illegal downloading, technology is giving peolpe the chance to 'steal' something, it's up to each one of us to decide to steal or not, it's a matter of respect, but if you feel it's good this way, that's your choice.

And back to Italians and music culture...does names like Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Paganini, or let's come closer... Morricone...sounds something to you? We come from this culture.

When I was in Italy, I used my Creative Zen all the time ´cause the music over there is very irritating. Name me one actual italian group which give something and I´ll give to you credit -from the 80´s to date.
Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Paganini, I have my serious doubts about the quality of those composers, I will brand them as regulars. As for Ennio Morricone or Nino Rotta, great composers, at least for movies.

I´m aware that Sting and Andy toured South America, Sting came to my country for a rehearsal (was the first show with his better band since The Police, the one that made his best solo album "ten summoner tales"). So, the show sound very bad.

As for the illegal downloads, I have my point. Do you think that The Stones or Roger Waters need to come to South America for a 50 bucks per ticket? They don´t. But they come. In Argentina, The Stones filled 5 River Plate stadiums in each visit. 40.000 people per show. Roger came when Argentina´s economy crashed out, he lost money. Here he comes again for two shows. Bill Brufford also came to Uruguay to play one night for 200 people. Stewart? We´ll, I´m still waiting. So, when I spent and spent money and they never come, one option to put a little bit of a pressure, is not to buy anymore legal records. Finally, The taranta is awful, sorry to say that... tradition doesn´t mean good quality. But as for your name, is logic that you defend your music.

you said "cause if they ignore us, we can ignore them, right? "

yes, then you can IGNORE them by NOT LISTENING to their music/// STEALING is not ignoring, it's stealing.

...and we, as regular users of this site, can choose to ignore those who only come around to stir up trouble and be confrontational.

Yup. To each his own, but I don't think there's a very good case being made here on too much of anything. And I couldn't disagree more on the della Taranta work, but I suppose that goes without saying.

:shock: First "Ten summoner tales show" in South America before Sting started his TST Tour??? uhmmm where do you live?

I am south american too, but I didn't have the luck to saw The Police "live" in my entire live, or Andy, Stewart or Sting alone on any stage of my country (Peru) and I don't show angry about it, only with a healthy envy and wishes good luck to any other fans from around the globe... Perhaps, I never see them on stage... and my destiny will be to enjoy them by DVD or cable TV...

The worst thing I could do as a south american fan will be to show offensive with other fans... music is culture and is a national proud of any citizens... we don't need to be agressive or show arrogance to discuss a topic.

If you are argentinian or uruguayan perhaps you have some italian roots.... I am peruvian with italian roots and in my head don't process why you are angry with Stewart or Italian music??? Perhaps you are a super fan of Stewart and you feel so angry with him, cause he didn't scheduled a visit to your country in the last years...and now you don't see any chance that THE POLICE make a gig in South America and you feel desperated and dissapointed with Stew or THE POLICE but this isn't the right way to express your frustation (the same as me) please don't envy in a bad way if you like to envy as me do it in a healthy way or with a joke "Live is Live" is my destiny will be the king of pain that's will be my karma but anybody is the cause of this reaction....

Reflex what you said... Italy and his music is so cool ( well I never visited there, but my mom, dad and sister yep and I met lot of cool italians so in some way I resect Italy and his culture) and any people of any country needs to have our respetc and tolerance....

Hey I really thinks Stew is one of the most coolest musicians of the world the same as Andy and Sting... Reflex on what you said brother... we are south americans so living la vida :wink: take it with an smile... God bless you! A big hug bro! whenever you live... I expected Stew, Andy, and Sting wont forget our continent... perhaps you have more posibilities than me to make your dream real... Smile and send your love to the future! One world is enough for all of us!

You enjoy listening to their music, don't you? That should be reason enough to pay for it.

Claudio Baglioni, Pino Danielle, Rentatto Zero, Laura Pausini, Gianluca Grignani, (the last one is really handsome) all of these are good Italian musicians, singers and I like it very much.

But I have to recognize that Lucio Batisti still being my favorite Italian musician/singer...

Ahhhhhhhh and I also love to buy all music that I like, because is the way I can support my favorite artists to continue making music.

If you can really understand how you can damage an artist stealing its own music Porkusmag, maybe you consider your bad advice here. :evil:

Anyway, I really don't know which city are you from, but be clear that is not all South America.

Geographically Mexico is in/on North America, but I am Latin, so I can feel more indentify with people from South America like my brothers, and really surprise me that you flew all your sadness with Sout America shield. I think is not fair.
