I hope not! Sting was able to do well without backup singers on his Broken Music tour so hopefully that's a sign of things to come...

the teleprompter is evident in the rehearsal photo. i can imagine sting will need it more than ever. leave dolette, tessa etc AT HOME for god sake! Leave the lute at home too.
Although tea in the sahara on the lute may be cool (with danny on bass, of course)

...and glasses on the end of his nose for reading the tele, just kiddin Stingo!
Much respect to the backup singers...but I've seen that, heard that.
I have to be honest, I would be happiest seeing just the three, no keyboards, just Andy and Stew on backups.
I guess I'm old too....but y'know, "Don't Care" dah na na na na na na na na na Don't Care!!!
Cheers.

My hunch is that The Police will keep it a trio this time. The fact that he didn't hide behind a wall of musicians and backup singers on his last tour is a good indicator (i hope). I think he was practicing to see if he could still do it (knowing full well he was going to reunite with The Police).
And it was his best tour in years.
The Police = TRIO!

at the same time, pre-recorded "stacked" vocals by sting triggered live, like on Roxanne, are LAME AS ALL HELL.
i'd like a male backup singer as well - some rasta-ish guy with dreads

This might sound a little goofy, but they should get David Rasner from the tribute band Fallout to do backing vocals. That guy sounds exactly like Sting and Stewart has even played with him. I've seen them a few times and I think it would sound amazing.

Yes, I like David performance too. But the girls were good too.

Where will Andy park his Rascal?

I think they should do without backup singers... it made them lose so much edge in the live recordings.
