Hi everybody.
First of all, I am the moderator; I'm sure you never had doubts about it; I was never afraid in writing messages about what I think shouldn't be done in this forum (see my direct message about posting links a few days ago, intended for everybody of course, and a few ones weeks and months ago).
I read all your messages, even the ones that brought a thread to 20 pages (don't worry, I'm not telling you to stop).
If you have suggestions about how to 'rule' this place, please, come to me first, thanks, instead of giving 'your rules', good or bad that they are. I've been taking care of websites for about 10 years now, and never had problems in trying to let people enjoy the existance of a forum.
As already mentioned some threads ago, excitement about The Police performing at the Grammy's and rumours about a possible tour is giving everybody the chance to express an opinion, a sentiment, it's plain to see, and this place is here for this as well, together with news coming from all of you all over the world (see the information we're getting from Shigeyo in Japan, or even people in Vancouver these days...).
Go on with your messages, sometimes they might sound boring to some of the fans, but interesting for others.
Does the word 'netiquette' is part of everyone's vocabulary? I guess it is....it means a way to behave correctly, with respect, and honestly on the web, and this place is no exception.
Most important of all is the OBJECT of the thread; please, be as clear as possible, then people can choose to read it or not.
One more thing: try to write answers and messages relating to that thread you are giving replies, not to get lost on conversations.
I remind you that some members were cancelled from this forum due to their bad behaviour; it took me five minutes to decide about it, after a first and second advice to the member.
Said that, yes, this is a long message, but that's the way it has to be.
Let me know your thoughts and if you feel there's something wrong in the way we're all managing this place, I'm here to listen to suggestions.
Thanks.
