Taurus Moogs are vintage, OK, but they kick ass !!...
I use a Minimoog in my band, controlled by a footpedal too (but not the Taurus) and it's sound so great ! Taurus used the same oscillators as the Mini I think...
Sting used to play with them in "Broken Music" tour. I saw him in concert last year in Luxemburg but he only played with them on "Message".
Taurus, as well as Stew's octobans, are a link to the past of The Police, and I like it !!

There is just something about seeing all that band equipment set up and ready to go that really gets me pumped! Anyone that has played in a band knows the feeling....
Damn...I've got to get in a band again!!!
Thanks for sharing Stewart!

Jeerpers Creepers! Look at the size of that kit. I think it's even bigger than the 'monster' that you called your kit in ES at the US Festival...
If you dont need it after this whole tour Stewart, I could make a home for it.
Would be a nice replacement for my 89 Tama Swingstar and (cheap-o) Peace octobans.

Wow, that pic got me excited. After many, many rumours of them being in Vancouver, this is official confirmation. And I don't think they'd relocate themselves to Western Canada just to rehearse one song for the Grammys. It seems to me that there is more on the horizon, such as a tour and/or new songs (as many rumours suggest, but nothing confirms). Plus, it looks like there are lights on the "set," meaning there is some kind of photography or video shoot going on. A new video means new song, and that would be really cool..... Me happy.

The rumor mill is just going haywire. I just read something on Google Alerts about two shows at Fenway Park in Boston...
Wow. If they're going to do a lot of really huge shows, I think our chances of getting decent tickets just went up. That's good news. Although I'll still fly anywhere I need to, for a chance to see them in a venue that's fewer than 20,000 people or so.

Some news from a local vancouver newspaper
Every bite you take: Police spotted at Cin Cin
— Stuart Derdeyn
Naysayers who thought the Police reunion rumours were a ruse were eating crow antipasto when all three members of the U.K. trio sat down for a taste of Tuscany at Cin Cin on Robson Street on Saturday evening.
Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers were joined by a fellow diner, who one reader ID’d as actor Terence Stamp (a sometime local resident) while another said it was Brightlight Pictures exec Shawn Williamson.
The trio has been rehearsing at Lions Gate Studios in North Vancouver since the third week of January in preparation for its first appearance together in 21 years at the Grammy Awards broadcast in Hollywood on Feb. 11.
Major online ticketsellers are booking names for as-yet-unconfirmed dates on the ’80s megastars reunion tour in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the release of its first international single “Roxanne.”
Expect to see the tour open in Vancouver in April.
One of our sources reports that the highlight of his excellent evening out dining was having a discussion with Gordon Sumner — a.k.a. Sting — in the men’s room recalling seeing the Police and Thompson Twins back in the day.
No word on whether Sting’s response was “Don’t stand so close to me.”
