Hi to everybody,
I just typed on my web navigator the URL
www.thepolice2007.com as it was revealed some weeks ago the domain name was booked, just to see if there was anything new.
Strangely, it not arrived to this domain name, but was automatically changed to
www.thepolicetour.com !
Apparently, it's not working yet.
AmitiƩs.

Or maybe - a very keen fan is booking up all the domains now ?
I always thought thepolicefile.com claimed to be the official police site - but that hasn't been live for a long time now...

Salut George!
Yes, you're right. I think you mentioned it on the AUI... if my memory is good.

I'm not sure at all our friend Craig ever claimed his site was official. It was just the work of a very talented person, maybe that's why you thought it was official.

As I remember, and I don't remember the source so pardon me for that, the 2007 name was registered back in 2006.

If you do a whois search on the site yeah, I think it was registered in November of 2006.
Will he let us know first?

Do you think Stewart will notify us on this website first before it goes public that they're doing a reunion concert tour - if they are doing one?
I really hope so. Being that I've never been to a concert like this before, how soon could I expect to buy tickets to this? I mean if we knew in advance, would the tickets be available for sale at our local arenas so we'd get the first shot at them? Or do they only go on sale after it's officially announced to the public making it essentially a free-for-all?

That's very promising for a tour, don't you all think? If mean, if they were just going to do a one off or a couple big awards shows or festivals, do you think they would bother?

I think doing a site for all 3 of them is the only truly fair way to do it.
Otherwise, do we all have to join Sting's damn presale club? It favors "legacy" members, so someone who is a huge Police fan but only a marginal Sting solo career fan will miss out. (There's actually a post there on this subject, with legacy members crowing their status over those of us who recently joined.)
Or how do they decide the allotment of tickets to each site and make sure that someone isn't tripling up?
Also, I'm pretty sure Andy's site has no forum, so how would they take care of fans that "live" over there?
Maybe (to avoid scalpers) they could have a trivia quiz to enter the site. Or you have to participate in the forums to be in on the presale. Or some such test of fandom.

It *would* be a drag for the Sting people to get priority...no telling how this is all going to go down. It'd be swell if all the guys get a little chance to hook up some of their more extraordinarily dedicated fans, but we all know how many people really love them, so there just may not be an easy way to do it.
That said, might not be a bad idea to make sure your email and contact info is correct for any sites you hang out at a lot. I would imagine any hookup that might occur would be more likely to go out via email...
There wouldn't seem much point in putting presale information on any of these public forums, because anyone with access to Google (which is most everyone on Earth) would find it pretty quickly.

I hope it isn't the presale thing with them, but it probably will be. That means I'm guessing everyone is screwed. Those are the best and really only way to get tickets that have good seating and are at face value.
This is all maddening. I want news now!

I'm not even going to bother trying to get good seats at face value. I rarely go to concerts anymore, but the last 3 Sting concerts I've seen, the tickets came from scalpers. I tried to be the first to buy, but it was no use. I have the number somewhere for the guy who got me the Sting tickets, now I just need a good scalper for Montreal and Detroit. What a once in a lifetime chance to see my favorite band. Can't wait. I just hope Toronto and the other cities will make the cut!
Edited to add.... I know I don't post much but, 6 in two years!!! I truely am ashamed of myself, considering I pop in every day. Hope everyone is well.

Personally, I would and will refuse to join sting.com on principle, even if they do get presale chances at tickets. It just strikes me as wholly unfair on a lot of levels--not the least of which is as has been mentioned, some of us are not big enough fans of Sting on his own to have had any reason to want to join before. I will take my chances like most normal folks, or even pay ticketmaster offical auction prices to get prime seats (I've done that before for shows I desperately wanted to get good seats for, and it was still cheaper than going to a ticket agent.)
And considering ticketmaster saves the best seats for those auctions these days or as giveaways to radio stations/business partners/friends/etc, I really don't think "presale" seats will be anything to get too hyped up about anyway.
