Does anyone have one?
I was thinking of getting one, but I don't know what. Maybe just the symbols from Ghost in the Machnine? I don't know, but something cool.

I've got 8 tattoos. None of them have anything to do with the Police. I think people should think long and hard before doing it (like about 6 months). That's what I did for all of mine and I don't regret getting any of them. I thought someone else here has a tattoo of the Ghosts in the Machine symbols.

Was it Wombat, perhaps?
I've long thought about getting a GitM tattoo; actually it's the only tat I've ever considered at all. I have a friend in England who is an awesome tattoo artist so if I ever get to visit her there, I'll get it done--I've already told her she's the only person I'll trust to put ink on my skin.

I don't have any, mostly because I know myself: I won't be able to decide what to get (a shark, because I love them? A yellow ribbon, because I live in the town where women were afforded the right to vote? A band emblem? Which one?) so I'll wind up getting ALL of them...and I'm just not sure how that would fit in with my lifestyle...

Dietmar, why not?
I'll think about it for a long while.
I was thinking of one on my ancle, then one on my lower back. I could hide them if I wanted, or let them show.
Conroy, what are they of?
>I live in the town where women were afforded the right to vote
I wanted to vote in the last presidential election, now I've lost intrest.

Don't lose interest, hon. You're of the age when a lot of decisions are being made that will affect your generation greatly. But this is probably a conversation for another time & place...

The first one is a wyvern on my left arm between the elbow and shoulder. The second is a winged solar disc on my right arm in the same area as the wyvern on my left arm. I have the signs of the zodiac on my left shoulder blade. Next is the Punisher skull on my left waist (which will probably look like the Grateful Dead skull if I don't go on a diet soon!) I have a tribal phoenix on my left calf, an ankh on the underside of my arm under where the wings on the winged solar disc meet and last is an oroboros (a snake eating it's tail) in the shape of the infinity sign on my left arm below the wyvern I mentioned previously. I probably would have more, but my tattooist has moved to Jacksonville, FL and he's done all the ones I have. My cousin knows a good tattooist in Austin. Next time I talk to him, I'll ask him who it is.

And I forgot about the one above the winged solar disc on my right arm. It's got a sword plunging through a heart with a crown on top of the sword. At the bottom, two other swords criss cross with the one going through the heart and and there are three aces of hearts under the swords. This one I messed up a little bit when I kept it too wet with Bacitracin while the ink was still wet and some of it came off while I was asleep the first night after I got it and itstained the pillow on which I was sleeping. Although, it did have a cool effect on the tattoo, leaving behind marks that look like speed lines in Anime cartoons so it seems like the swords in the tattoo are moving. With tats, you'll need to be more wary of getting them exposed to the sun. I always use sunscreen but even that hasn't help them from fading a bit.

When I'm old, would it matter?
Although my uncle (he's like 50 or so) has his wife's name on his arm.... I always thought it was a tiger, it's so screwed you can't tell unless he evens his skin out. And he's only 50... I guess he just aged quickly.

I've got 2, and plan on more in the future. I definitely second what Conroy said about thinking long and hard about what you want....it's gonna be there forever. The pain isn't really that bad so long as you're not getting inked in a shallow spot with bone underneath such as the wrist. Plus, IMO it is totally worth the minimal pain to have a nice piece of artwork on you....there are too many blank canvasses out there!
