They were made, with Stewart's permission or at least he ordered one, by two fans in 1987-88, one from Colorado who worked on several Stewart and Police projects such as the Cleveland Opera and Live Police album. Right, there was no tour, that was the funny thing about the jackets. It was very cool to see him wearing his in Rolling Stone.
When I saw Animal Logic in 1990 I was waiting outside the venue with friends when Stewart and Stanley arrived by taxi with a pizza. As he was walking by I said, "Hey Stewart" and turned my back to him to show my jacket. He immediately let out a big, "They're back!" meaning that I was part of the "Snarks" (similar to Nutters at the time). My girlfriend and I were welcomed in hours before the show, they signed a bunch of stuff for us and we watched the soundcheck (which I have a recording).
I'm not sure how to categorize the jacket. I guess it is fake being that it was not licensed or sold for profit. But it has a direct connection to Stewart/Klark Kent.
I just wanted to share the story and yes, I want to sell it.
Your Pal, Dennis
