New discovery of the century?

Hi, this is my first post.
About 5 years ago, I discovered the legendary soundtrack album.

The "Droids" soundtrack by Stewart & Derek Holt ("Colts") has been released in 1986 only in Spain !!
It contains the soundtrack of "Ewoks" soundtrack (not by Stewart) on A side and "Droids" on B side.
The details are as follows...

Title: Banda Sonora Original De La Serie De TV “Ewoks” y “Droids”
Released: 1986
Label: EMI Odeon (Spain)
Catalog Number: 062 24 0683 1 (LP)

Side A - "Ewoks" (by Taj Mahal, 6 trks)

Side B - "Droids" (by Stewart Copeland & Derek Holt, 8 trks)
1. Lio Otra Vez ("Trouble Again") (2:39) (Copeland/Holt)
2. Angel ("Angel Love") (2:36) (Holt)
3. RTW [instrumental] (1:50) (Copeland)
4. Cancion De Trabajo ("Work Song") (2:46) (Holt)
5. ¡Cuidado! ("Stay Ready") (2:39) (Copeland)
6. Cancion De La Batalla ("Battle Song") [instrumental] (2:45) (Copeland)
7. Refugio De La Tormenta ("Shelter From The Storm") (3:14) (Holt)
8. Lecciones De Amor ("Love Lessons") (3:05) (Copeland)

Unfortunately, the lyrics are translated into Spanish by E.T. Aragon.
And also the vocals are replaced by Spanish singer (detail unknown).
But the performances are actually by Stewart & Derek !
(Especially for "Trouble Again", unlike the TV version, Stewart's drums & hi-hat can be fully enjoyed here.)

This album is also the one of the roots of Gizmodrome, great !
By the way, I wonder that Stewart knows this album.

Looks like it's legit:

Sadly, there is NO WAY of getting it. Old, rare, obscure, all sold out years before.

And....... what the HECK is Love Lessons doing there?? Thematically, it is a song about a teenager coming to terms that school taught him naught of the female hunting sport.

I think "Droids" is relatively easier to get than "Frolkhaven" album.
We can see the LP at the auction site being exhibited once every about 5 or 6 months
at the prices of around about 50 to 200 euros.
But it is difficult to get it at MINT condition because this album was sold mainly for the children.
It's strange that no one noticed this album though more than 30 years have passed since it was released.

Thanks to klerk kant alerting us to the existence of this, I was able to jump on a promo cassette copy of the Droids/Ewoks soundtrack but it only had these three songs on the Droids side. I would love to hear the three tracks Stewart composed that it was lacking from the LP (RTW, Work Song and Battle Song).

Hi, conroy !

“RTW” is the ending theme of the TV and up-tempo track with atmosphere like “Serengeti Long Walk”
Edited version (for TV) can be heard here.

“Battle Song” is a song with atmosphere like “Gong Rock” or “African Dream”.

“Work Song” is written by Derek Holt.

And another Derek’s song “Angel Love” is exactly the song which you taught us about 8 years ago
that a song appeared in “The Great Heap”.

Thanks go to the link man. Second song skips (the needle did), but nothing can be done about that.

And I think Stewart arranged all the tracks.

Wow, thanks for this gem I knew nothing about!

It's kind of like hearing Last Exit stuff for the first time and finding the cores of future Police/Sting songs.
