Wikipedia writes Jan 15 reunion confirmed?

While Wiki isn't necessarily the most reliable of sources. (Actually, it isn't at all.) This still put a trigger to the heart for me...

"By the date of January 15 2007 The reunion of the Police has been officially confirmed."

You can view the article for The Police here...

I'm really beginning to think this is actually happening. My mind is so uninformed!

Whatever, these dreams actually seem more realistic than say... riding in a Ferrari in 1985 while listening to Zenyatta Mondatta on cassette en route to a Police concert.

Yeah I have those dreams every other week. Haha.

Ok ok

Well, now that Sting confirmed that 'something will happen'...you can start believing it ... he wouldn't say anything otherwise....

...and the news runs from one newspaper to the other all around the world...

But rememeber that each one of the three band members got an official website...keep on checking and the 'official' sources will surely spread the official news when it will be the right time.

I'm willing to bet Stewart is DYING to tell us the details. And that sooner or later, we'll get the whole narrative.

Hope so, anyway.

This is so stressful. I feel butterflies in my stomach just like I did when I was going to see them for the first time. If I don't hear something soon, I think I might explode.

OK people! "Something" to commemorate the anniversary could mean a dvd box set. It doesn't necessarily mean a tour. We just have to be patient a few more months.

Kim, we already know about the dvd that is soon to be released, so I do really believe the "something" is a tour. And I can be as patient as the next guy or girl, but that doesn't mean we have to stop talking about it, speculating about it, and just plain having fun wondering out loud. I'm sure you can appreciate that, can't you?

Yeah, even in class I can't stop thinking about it. I really really hope it happens.

Honestly, I gotta say I'm mildly disappointed. Something like this is going to be a gigantic undertaking; if they do play a tour it'll involve rehearsals, hiring hundreds of people, etc. (although I gotta wonder if things will evolve this way, given how Stewart and Andy have both railed against The Police, Inc. in interviews and Andy's book).

Anyway, guess I'd hoped for a new Klark Kent or Oysterhead record this year. Instead, even if I get to see 'em, there probably won't be any new recorded output from anybody...and I guess I'm just an old curmudgeon, but I kinda hate stadium shows, or anything much larger than a club.

(Tonight I went to see Jeff Tweedy and Glenn Kotche of the band Wilco at a medium size auditorium; more about 'em in another thread. Anyway, a bunch of drunk yahoos were obnoxiously screaming song requests out of the balcony, the girl in front of me kept flipping open a *really bright* laptop computer that blinded everyone in the row - not that she cared - and the woman next to me wore perfume so strong it made me and Hub both nauseous...the show was sold out and no chance to get up and change seats...

Guess I'm just getting old, but if I can't see somebody in a smaller venue where the chance of hassle from other audience members is lessened, I'm about getting where I won't go at all.)

[Edit: I reread this and it sounded REALLY curmudgeonly...I should probably add that I live in a town cram packed with really great bands you can see for $5 in a bar any night of the week...which still sounds awful, but I'm hoping y'all will forgive me. ;) I bet others here have access to good local music too. Someday I'd like to hear about it.]

Another one around my age! Welcome.

Nothing's going to happen with Oysterhead for a long while (although I would LOVE more), and Stewart already said Klark Kent isn't coming back any time soon (of coarse I want more of him aswell). And are they ever going to release a Gizmo cd? The only taste I've gotten is youtube.

Yes, you're right: they mention "years active: 1977-1984"... Uh, when 'Don't stand so close to me '86' was recorded?

My believes on these happenings (The Police world tour) are getting high, high high, higher :!:
