"Can't Stand Losing You" is Excellent

As I mentioned in another thread, I was lucky that while I was in Rome "Can't Stand Losing You" was playing. I saw it at The Space Cinema on July 2nd. I loved it. I won't give too much away so fans can enjoy it when you finally get to watch.

First of all, it's a great production. The writing, editing and sound mixing are first rate. The theater had an excellent sound system so I was really able to enjoy the music.

A lot of work went into this production.

Andy basically presents his bio, "One Train Later," in a condensed video form. In the case of this documentary, however, he includes the reunion tour and weaves back and forth between the story of his career and the Police story. It's very well done.

I hope that when the DVD (I hope Blu-ray) is released they will expand the story. Andy's book is so detailed, the documentary leaves out a lot important history that Police fans would consider important. For example, Andy doesn't talk about his Telecaster, how he bought it and the role it played in his career.

Andy is brutally honest. The one quote that stuck out to me is when Andy says in his narration that Sting refuses to share credit. I'm so glad he said it. I wish Andy would have specifically mentioned his pivotal contribution to Every Breath You Take.

Anyway, I highly recommend "Can't Stand Losing You." Make sure you listen with good speakers or with good headphones.
