I'd *love* some feedback on this (Dietmar!). Please note that I am aware it isn't perfect! I have been sitting on this for years and figured it was better to finish a "good" version as opposed to never finishing a "perfect" version....
The wonderful archival 90's Police video release "Outlandos to Synchronicities" opened with a title sequence which was not only full of cheap, chintzy editing effects but inexplicably and unforgivably failed to use even one legitimate "THE POLICE" logo or font. It appeared to have been designed by someone completely unfamiliar with the album and tour program designs of the band throughout the 80's and certainly reflected none of them.
I took it upon myself to create a replacement opening sequence (in the same aspect ratio as the original release) to show how it should have been done. I've done my best to not use any commercially available footage -- hence the grainy / soft look of some of the footage, which is all from officially unreleased recordings. I created the montages of still images, layouts and edits from scratch, using Final Cut Pro X.
To date, "Outlandos to Synchronicities -- A History of the Police Live!" has only been released on VHS and laserdisc, and is no longer commercially available. Like "Police Around the World", fans have had to make do with digital VHS conversions or at best a Laserdisc to DVD transfer.
