OT: Qick Review of drummike's Sat. 1 Sept. Gig

I finally got to make it to one of drummike's local gig's with the Erlanger/Kenton Co. Community POPs Orchestra. This one occurred this past Saturday 7 Sept. outside at the Erlanger Branch of Kenton Co Library, which is set back from the surrounding roads w/ plenty or lawn to sit and listen on. I did only catch a last portion unfortunately of the piece drummikeHimself composed, and the band performed. What I heard sounded great-but I didn't hear much due to getting there late.
There were 3 more compositions I did get to hear, one of which was a Lady Gaga medly: Poker Face, Bad Romance, Let's Dance. The group was bright, got the rhythyms, the brass section really was tight-not easy w/ trombones-, and I was impressed at how well all of the flutes were able to produce clear crisp notes throughout-also not easy. Gaga music not really written for wind type intruments, much more percussive. drummike was on the band kit during this piece, and did a great job. Mike, did I hear alot of hi hat & ride activity during that medly maybe?
All the peices were well chosen for diversity of the audience, a good ineractive Conductor(I almost wished he could have had a meat coat or something on...... haha!)
What I really enjoyed was meeting drummike and his wife Cathy-who will be learing banjo this year, Kool! Had a great time talking w/ here during band breaks, and w/ both before & after.
Nutters are awesome!!!
