So, talk of this reunion has been floating around over on Facebook. Anybody going? We hear the opening set last night in Toronto was first rate.

Josh Freese, friend of St. Jeff, is playing drums on this mini-tour. I saw a couple of the last 'Mats shows in 1991, and from what I've seen of the 2013 vid? This looks like quite the improvement.

(Yes, I'm contemplating running away from home for the Chicago show next month. ;))

Setlist:

Takin a Ride
I'm in Trouble
Favorite Thing
Hangin Downtown
Color Me Impressed
Tommy Gets His Tonsils Out
(with Jimi Hendrix's Third Stone From the Sun snippet)
Kiss Me on the Bus
Androgynous
(audience request)
Achin' to Be
I Will Dare
Love You Till Friday
Maybellene
(Chuck Berry cover)
Merry Go Round
Wake Up
Borstal Breakout
(Sham 69 cover)
Little Mascara
Left of the Dial
Alex Chilton
Swingin Party
Can't Hardly Wait
Bastards of Young

Encore:
Everything's Coming Up Roses
(Ethel Merman cover)
I.O.U.

I'm planning on the Chicago show. I was at their last show in '91 in Chicago; the Rolling Stone review was very positive.

 Wow is this really going to happen at long last?
Saw them wayyy back in ’86 or ’87 at a small place in Boston. The Channel.
The place was so small my friend literally ran into Paul Westerberg at the bar (knocking him over)
I will never forget that show.
Any Los Angeles dates?

I saw them open for Tom Petty in 1989 and they were terrible drunks playing Mats songs. I couldn't believe how bad they were!
