rumors of the police...true or not?

Postby kipper on 30 Jul 2013 19:03

hi,
i have found this but i don't know if it's true or not?

"While their representatives are keeping tight-lipped, reports have been circulating on the Internet. There have been strong rumors that the rock band is finally returning to the recording studio working on a what might be a back-to-roots album.
According to a source, rumors of the Police (Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers, ed) working in recording studio are true, with as many as eight songs having been put to tape. “It’s still in the early stages,” “They got security on the doors to ensure no-one hears a whisper,” a source said."

Not.
There is now a disclaimer saying the following: "UPDATE 30/07/2013 : This story seems to be false."
End of story.

They are never going to record in the studio together again.

Stewart does not want to fight those fights again.

While they have said they won't do live shows again either, I envision that some charity show in the future might bring them together on the stage, but not in a studio.

Plus Andy and Sting have plans next year for Andy's new band and Sting musical, one of which I am very excited about.
SC-There are a few crazy people on this planet. Sure sign of that is that they kinda like my music

A little info on the aforementioned site that seems to make a business out of propagating hoaxes:

From the last paragraph:
"Perhaps the biggest lesson learned here is that those attempting to present legitimate news reports must exercise caution with their choice of sources in this age of hoaxes, rumors, and fake news sites such as Mediamass.net."

I hate to be the grim reaper, but I think those of us that were there at Madison Square Garden for the final show, saw just that - the final show. The end. The fat lady even sang as the boys walked off stage.

The Police story was boxed up, put on a hand truck and was wheeled into the warehouse like the final scene of Raiders Of The Lost Ark....

Well, nothing can be said, but that's my own opinion.
For what I know, nothing's in the can, but I can definitely tell that the contract is still open and they have a certain number of albums to deliver to the label (live recordings and greatest hits are not considered). I guess everything may be in the hands of lawyers, managers, etc... as I don't think they will ever record a new (or more, as by contract) albums...but never say never my friends...
