Woke up this morning and saw this on Concert Vault. I am not sure if this is circulating. The site used to be free, but you can sign up for a free 14 day trial. Enjoy!

Thanks a lot for this link, really great stuff. "Bring on the night" sounds just amazing. It would have been a nice bonus track to the "EBYT - The singles" compilation album at that time.
I remember Dietmar told us about a plan of a 6th album, consisting of reprises of old standards performed by The Police. Was it at this period?

from memory - that was mentioned in an article from late 1982

Thanks for the reply, Dietmar.
I guess it was postponed (and then cancelled) because of "Synchronicity". Did you find any clue this project was really planned or was it just gossip in the media at that moment? Please don't tell me they already recorded some tracks in the studio back then, that are still waiting somewhere at A&M since 1982…

I'd say it was just an interesting thing to say to a reporter, not a real plan.

Thanks very kindly for the link! I listened to this when you first posted it, but now whenever I try, I get re-directed to the Concert Vault Memebership page... is this normal? It'd been a while since I'd been to the WV site, but I seem to remember (as long as you've signed up for free) being able to stream audio with no hassles...

It seems to be here still: http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/the-police/concerts/memorial-auditorium-february-22-1984-soundcheck.html Looks like they may have slightly modified the url from the original post.

I still haven't listened to this yet.

I know what it is - my trial period has expired!

This really is worth a listen though, it blew me away when I first heard it! I've seen a few photos that are labelled as being from this show, and there seems to be some slightly more rigorous than usual mic'ing around Stewart's kit (in particular, what looks to be a shotgun-style mic overhead) - I wonder if this show was professionally recorded by the band?

HOLY CRAP. This has to be the most amazing Police business to be circulated since the Synchronicity rehearsals.
Flabbergasted.
