OT: End of Days?

I can't help but wonder whether the Mayans are right: Syria, Iran, chemical weapons (I can't even keep straight who is the bigger threat these days). And then there's an earthquake in Japan and a Tsunami warning has been issued. I think I should change my user name: Chicken Little.

It's been real, Nutters! Just in case...

Wouldn't suprise me in the slightest.

The 21st is the first day of my week off for Christmas so I expect the bloody world will end.

Typical!

Nah the world won't end for a long time yet, and even when it does it will be because humans destroyed it with pollution. By then, though, it won't matter to humans because we'll have colonized space.

If, when it will all ends, some human beings will remain, they will start again exactly as it was at the beginning, arriving exactly where we are now...and it will all end again, and it will start again, and again and again...we will never change...

But I hope Giovanni is right:

Well we're already going to destroy this world, I'm sure no one thinks otherwise.

I just don't believe the world will end on it's own any time soon, its survived for billions of years, it will survive much longer. I think if the world were to destroy on it's own, it would be when the sun implodes.

I also don't believe humans will destroy it in a chain strike of nuclear weapons. One push of the button, and it would be shared annihilation, not going to happen.

Without that bringing about our end, and us one day destoring this plannet so bad we (humans in general) can't inhabit it... we'll look toward space as our new home. Of coarse, "Our only chance of long-term survival is not to remain lurking on planet Earth, but to spread out into space."- Hawking

Yeah, we'll be "the destroyer of worlds".

Good thing there are orange trees and wild cows on the moon.

Should I start selling off all of my Police vinyl?

God made the earth with a self destruct button, the sun will implode one day. I don't think there will be a non human end of the world, other then that.

Oh, yeah, we can add the recent "solar flares" (with bigger and brighter ones to come!) to the list...

You are TOO funny, Maria. I think you must still have a fever, but that's just what this thread needed!

Nah if any one Police album should survive a world wide catastrophic event, it should be Outlandos d'Amour. Everyone knows that!
