I thought I had seen everything Police Related on Ebay!

Postby kmart on 21 Aug 2012 12:12

So, I was surfing on ebay, looking for Police related items, as I do quite often (Im sure Dietmar has me beat by a mile, but I am getting quite the collection!). and I saw it....A piece of Sting's shirt! Worn in concert by the man himself. Now, I have seen alot of things, but it is the first time I saw this. So I bid on it...ten bucks seemed reasonable....and i WON IT....Now the question is, what do I do with it? Use it to heal the sick? Travel arround with it, showing it to adoring crowds? or put it in a box with all my other stuff?

i THINK THE BOX WINS....

Still my piece d' resistance is my Stewart Copeland Dressing Room sign from the final Police Show. Nothing can top that.

Kmart,
I always mail the picture back and forth to myself a few times, decreasing the size until it fits.

That's such a bizarre item that I think the only sensible thing to do is go on a quest to track down all the owners of other bits of the same shirt, and find out why / how they came to have a piece of fabric with the same provenance. So strange...

kmart: this is hilarious!
Maybe you can find all the other shirt-pieces owners (as Smudge suggested) en sew all the things together, so you have a whole shirt to wear

Well my friends,

As I continue to wrestle with this tool of the devil called the computer, I have added the link for the ebay page so you all can see the piece of Sting's shirt that I bought (and yes, he did wear it!). I wonder how they got the shirt..

I bought #54 of 80, so I only have 79 more to buy to own the whole shirt...however 10 bucks and 3 for shipping and handling times 80 is over a thousand bucks!

That is a lot of money!

Stewart should do something like this, maybe with one of his sweaty long tube socks that he used to wear...

Now that would be worth a lot of money!

Hahaha. Bring a documentary crew!

I'm concerned by the absence of proof of authenticity there, kmart, but I think you and SC.net have gotten your $13's worth just from the fun derived from the whole thing.

There are a few random clothing articles running around already. Does anyone have anything of Andy's? Between kmart's Sting shirt piece and Dietmar's Stewart shirt and socks, someone could stage their own sartorial reunion.

ETA: Kmart, how big is the photo file? If it's not too big to email, you can send it to me, and I can resize it to fit for you.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Fellow Members of Copelandia,

I have sent the picture to Dirty Martini to help with the resizing.

So hopefully we should see it soon...As far as the ligitimacy of the shirt. I guess you have a point. But I looked at the company and they a lot of this kind of thing for sports figures and the like...So, though I am not sure, I think it is ok....but like you said, for 13 bucks it is worth the chance to me and who could miss the opportunity to have my kids have laugh at me about it for a week..
