OT: The Fixx

OT: The Fixx

The Fixx just released a new CD called Beautiful Friction and a new tour is in progress. I saw them last night in Downtown LA with Modern English and both bands rocked.

The Fixx has always been one of those bands that seems to get better with age, imo. Cy's voice is still so clear and strong and Jamie's guitar sounds have always fascinated me. If you have the chance to check them out, do so.

Saw the Fixx many many many years ago when they opened up for the Moody Blues. Weird combination. But I found myself enjoying the Fixx more than the main act.

I saw the Fixx open for the Alarm a few years ago at the 930 club in DC and I was pleasantly surprised. They were really enjoying themselves which added to my enjoyment of the show. I had forgotten how great their other stuff was besides the overplayed "One Thing Leads to Another." And a lot of those other songs I hadn't heard since the 80s. I totally agree they have gotten better with age.
