That was a very cool and invigorating way to start my morning. Stewart has energy to burn. He sounds great.

Unfortunately, I couldn't hear the rest of the band as well. That's probably because you were closer to Stewart. When you can, tell us about the sound, the band, the crowd, the energy, etc.

Thanks for posting the video. Keep them coming!

I so love his energy. Yeah, you can hear the drums over everything else on there, but what you could hear sounded great! Thanks for sharing that :)

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

Absolutely FANTASTIQUE VINCE!!! It's a great performance and Stewart drum is incredible...they need to come to Peru Just NOW!!! (Macca never forget what their fans received and count his show at Lima at one of the most memorables in their live, all live in the streets when their car exit the airport like the Pope came or at their show people climbing the mountains that surrounding the 80,000 capacity stadium...)

Stanley & Stewart are definitely two superb musicians and Stewart clothes are so right, great look... Amazing show 8)

Man, I can't wait to go home where I can see Youtube, unlike at work.

I will be sending the toddler to bed at 6:30 tonight so I can spend time with these videos. (Not really)

Thanks so much for sharing.

Especially interested in Birds of Prey with this band.

Some info on the songs played

1. Goob Bye Pork Pie Hat - Jazz classic by Chales Mingus. Andy covered it on his Peggy's Blue Skylight CD of Mingus covers.

2. No Mystery - Title track from aan album by Return to Forever, Stanley's band with Chick Corea.

3. Too Cool Hats - Song that Stewart and Stanley played at the Sacred Grove, seemingly a jam from Stewart's studio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM9IXnZ3Fsk

4. School Days - Title song from Stanley's 2nd solo album. Perhaps Stanley's most famous song. Stewart and Stanley have played it many times, including in a 1986(?) concert with Adrian Belew, as Animal Logic, and on Stanley's DVD Night School.

5. Birds of Prey - From Stewart's Orchestralli CD. Played last year on Letterman's Drum Solo Week.

6. Lopsy Lu - From Stanley's first solo CD, "Stanley Clarke."

Thanks for the info on the songs. The set order was the following :
1. Lopsy Lu
2. Pork Pie
3. Birds of Prey
4. School days
5. No mystery
6. Too cool hats (encore)
I made a playlist : http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL ... ature=plcp

The concert last about around 1 hour 20. That's short but as you can see on the videos the energy was extremely high ! I think that Stewart was in very good shape at the end of the concert and would have be able to play much longer.

I met Gio while waiting to entry and he told us that after the show Stewart will come to see us... 8) . He told me that Stewart and Stanley only played together one day in April or May and 2 hours today to prepare the tour. Can you imagine that ?

The place, le Bataclan, is a nice small place. It was full but there were still tickets available, so not completely full. I was really on the front row, directly in contact with the stage and no more than 2 meters from the drums and Stewart. That was a real dream to see him in such conditions, after the reunion tour and considering that outside the Police he played in France only 1 time during the last 30 years as far as I know, with Stanley and Animal Logic by the way. STEWART IF YOU READ THIS PLEASE DON'T WAIT 10 YEARS TO COME BACK TO FRANCE !

The drums kit was standard as you can see on the videos, no octoban for instance. Stewart played very rock or jazz-rock, almost no rim shot (except at the end on Too Cool Hats), no reggae-style dub.

Gio told me that there is absolutely no plan to record a CD from the tour or whatever and that's a pity ! During the concert Giovanni came with us, just next to me, and filmed. There was also 2 cameras on the stage.

After the show, Stewart came out in front of the hall and signed autographs : I made him signed my first edition of the Fall Out single (he joked and signed under the head of Henri Padovani and I think he said that he'll meet him in next days) and the sleeve of my badge picture disc Roxanne/Can't stand 8). Unfortunately there was many people and we hadn't time to discuss or exchange. I have some pictures of the moment as well, I don't know if I can upload them in the forum.

Great report Vince and I'll be sure to check out your vids this weekend - you rock for recording them, to share with the rest of us around the world. Glad you got the chance to meet STEWART even if briefly, and to see a performance so close!
