Happy Birthday to Jerry Dammers of The Specials

I loved the first two albums by The Specials as well as a lot of the other 2-Tone ska acts of the late 70s. Not only was Jerry a driving force in The Specials, but he also was a big part of the 2-Tone movement and record label. I liked Madness, The Selector, and Bad Manners, but my favorite ska acts were The Specials and The Beat. I'm sorry the ska movement didn't last longer, but those groups made a lot of great music in just a few years.

It hasn't gone away completely, it's just hidden in amongst other stuff. I hear little snatches here and there from various groups. Besides, everything is cyclical - it'll be back someday - like Frosty the Snowman

No matter how many times I've seen this, pure joy, everytime. Bernie Rhodes knows, don't argue!
