OT: What hockey team ya rooting for?

Some of us have been talking about this on Facebook - I know for a fact we have Caps, Flyers, Kings, and Preds fans here...I'd guess maybe a few Habs and Leafs boosters...And it's Stanley Cups Playoffs time!
Who's gonna win it? What was your vote for the most surprising upset?
I have to say I'm shocked but not terribly surprised the Kings have been kicking butt all over the place this year. My hat is off - VAN and STL are very worthy rivals. I'm not sure the Preds could beat them, so maybe it's a mitzvah that we appear to be getting ready to lose to the Coyotes...
(Damn. First they knocked off the President's Trophy winners, then the team that got the most points most of the way through the second half of the season - in a sweep. Where were these guys during the regular season?!)

I'm not as into it as you are, but I'm excited that Philly made it past the first round. I'm a little fearful for them right now, but the action in my house is as good as on TV... the husband is a Devils fan! There is a lot of animosity in our living room right now.

Ok Ill talk about it.
LA looks unstoppable right now. I pick em to go all the way. If they do win, that'll be three years in a row my Canucks have lost to the eventual champs.
The preds have some in-fighting going on now, which could be thier undoing.
Hockey is my religion.

the caps could be the dark horse but they'll probably blow it in the second round like they have generally done when they made the playoffs in the past.

Great to see the Kings back in the Championship for the second time.
As I posted in the Dive b-day thread(I had not seent his one yet) have waited NINETEEN years for them to be back in. I was inthe stands for the a '93 championship game aganst the Leafs and a Cup game against the Canadians.
Was hoping to see the Flyers (Mrs.'s home town) advance but after last night looks like the Devils are too much.

I'd have to agree with Tamadude.
LA kings look to be capable of going the distance.
They schooled Vancouver and just swept St. Louis 4-0
Jonathan Quick is damn near bullet proof.
At the best of times, Canucks hockey is hard to watch, even for this longtime fan.
After last year's Stanley Cup riot, I've turned to watching BC Lions football instead.
It's way easier on the stress meter.

As a Kings fans, we spend as much time cheering WTF Kings as we do Go Kings. So please, don't call it yet. We don't want to jinx anything here.
Just so damn excited we made it this far- and hoping for some more home games

Got to go KINGS baby! Anyway, Devils have a Cup already. If only my '93 Con Smythe Championship shirt still fit, it mysteriously shrunk somehow
Who would have thought in LA that we would be less than three weeks away from Memorial Day and have the Kings, Lakers, and Clippers ALL in the playoffs.
Maybe the Myans are right........

Devils have several cups! '93 Kings playoff was so painful = McSorley's stick!!!!!!!
All LA teams in the playoffs is great.

As someone who wears her maple leaf on her sleeve (and I mean the red variety not the blue one), I feel it is my patriotic duty to weigh in on this thread.
I love hockey, but I cannot stand to watch the stuff they play in the NHL. Give me world championship/Olympic hockey any time, especially the women's game, but keep your present day NHL. It's not the hockey I watched and loved as a kid. The violence and fighting has turned me off for years, and what I hear from the daily sports news, it's not getting any better. I love the speed, skill and finesse that comes with the international game, and there is nothing so spectacular as a US/Canada final. That's when it is all about hockey! If I want to watch fighting, I'll watch boxing. But when I want to watch talented hockey players playing the real game with little fear of receiving a career-ending concussion, I'll pass on the NHL and take in a World Championship or other international event, or any type of women's hockey I can find.
I don't intend to say this as a criticism of anyone who enjoys the NHL. It's just not my cup of tea. Though I suppose if the Maple Leafs were to ever, ever get into the playoffs, I'd watch a game or two just so I can say I witnessed the rare historic event. (It's kind of like taking in Hailey's commet.)
