Postby Kim on 03 May 2012 01:27

Jeff, any plans for next year? Is there anything we haven't heard or seen yet?

Also, holy crap, I can't believe it's been 29 years... I feel old...!

I was aware that it's the 30th anniversary of Ghost in the Machine...yikes, that means it's 30 years since I first saw The Police.   But oddly enough the 30th anniversary of Synchronicity seems MORE like a "holy crap" moment.

Hard to believe that Lil EQ is the same age now as I was when I first saw The Police in concert. Dear lord.

any plans?

yeah, The Police TM (c), will work hard to ignore the clamour for 'product', a lavish DVD/CD combo set will be considered, rumours will abound of which shows and what extras are to be included before the anniversary passes without being marked in any way at all or, if we're really lucky, another greatest hits compilation.
It has been 4 years or so since a greatest hits was released so we must be due another one.

You are probably right, but I had to ask. There's a year to go, in case someone hadn't thought about it yet, I figured I could remind them that there's plenty of time ;-p

No plans that I am aware of.
I've always had a fantasy of getting the entire touring crew together for a reunion celebration party.
The reunion tour was HUGE but The Synchronicity tour was HUGE in so many other ways. Lot's of ground breaking stuff on that tour.

Let’s take the money we would have spent on the Synchronicity deluxe anniversary box set, the Police Around the World “out on DVD at last” Blue Ray, a redundant greatest hits package, etc., etc., etc. and pool it together to help Jeff self-publish!

wouldn't it be great if the blondes would get back on stage and play the whole 'Synchronicity' album live, from the beginning to the end, b-sides as well? Ok, impossible, I know...
At least a book about it, with pics from the tour, the rehearsals of the tour, the recording sessions?
Uhm, what about a vynil picture disc?
Ok, maybe a four disc set with the album, the rehearsals, one soundcheck and a live recording not released yet?

PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF THE PAST CENTURY....
