Man, Vince Neil must hate that guy. But I think I'm in love.

So Stewart and Zilboy and Tamadude and all you other tall drummers, when are you going to start playing with your feet like that?

Well, well, well. A few thoughts come to mind.

1. That must be what happens when a drummer gets too involved in yoga.
2. I wish I could have watched it without having to listen to the singing and guitar.
3. Related: With a show like that, you need a crazy ass drummer to carry it. Singer off key. Constant guitar soloing. Urk.

I used to love Motley (I know, I know) but that video was awful.

Still, I'm glad you posted it.

Never. You'll never see me making an ass of myself like that. The bass player in my band dances around all night and it throws his time off.

Guy reminds me of that fool in the Texas cover band.

Have you noticed that this sort of thing is only possible when keeping a straight, simple beat?

Two words, folks - Buddy. Rich.

@Zilboy: Spoilsport.

Though if Buddy Rich had the flexibility to kick cymbals, I don't believe he wouldn't have done so now and then. He wasn't a windmilling spaz or anything, but he wasn't above showboating either.

Yes, but my point was that acrobatics bore me if there's no flash anywhere else, i.e. technique. Buddy looked like a ninja when he played and did some extremely cool visual stuff, but there was also magnificent playing while all that was going on.

Congrats, dude - you can balance a stick on the palm of your hand. Now let me see you do that while doing paradiddles beween your other hand and your feet - not just boom-bop-boom-bop.

i hope he does that with no forethought and just loves it... how can he keep a straight face swishing around, arms crossed, at the cymbals?
he's worked harder on his cheese than his chops.

He must be really drunk. Or bored. Or high. Or just plain ridiculous.

That was on the same level of silly as the video with the Asian guy who was also having way too much fun playing. Remember that one? I think it was an EQ thread too. It was a very comical video.

If I were Vince I'd replace him with someone who showed a little more respect for the music he's playing.

Precisely what I was thinking:

I do agree with you in principle. I admit that I lose some of my sympathy when I hear the actual music he's playing, though.
