Peeps!

Saw this last night at the Theatre at MSG. I saw Sting there ages ago... Soul Cages? Ten Summoner's Tales? Anyway...

It's not a big place, but we were in the back. The sound was, eh. You could tell the music was good, but we weren't hearing it quite right. Maybe the acoustics were bad in the room?

First up: Lacuna Coil - loved them! They played a short set though, only 20 or 25 minutes.

Here's their new single: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTT6picaCoQ

Next up: Volbeat. I only know 2 of their songs, but they sounded great.

Next up: Motorhead! I figured, I have to see the legend... LEMMY!!! I don't know too much of the material, but, damn, they lit the place up! Reminded me of Metallica. Even if you don't know the songs, you are just blown away by the wall of sound. Phil Spector didn't know what a wall of sound was, lol! J/K. They did Ace of Spades, of course, and just killled it. During the last song, some moron jumped on the stage next to Lemmy. Four BIG dudes took him down and dragged him away. Lemmy didn't miss a beat though, and kept going. Unfortunately there was no Stingesque "I'm gonna kick your ass", from Lemmy, lol.

Megadeth was the headliner. It's their tour, kind of like a poor man's Big 4. We left after Motorhead though. We had seen Megadeth at the Big 4 at Yankee Stadium in September, and neither one of us is a big fan. Not that they weren't good, I just don't know any of their songs. I wouldn't have minded staying, since we were there, but my husband couldn't care less. He didn't want to go last night at all, so I figured I'd go when he wanted to leave. On the up side, we were on the 9:40 train home, so it wasn't that late of a night. Yeah, we are getting old, lol.

Oh, forgot to add.... Mickey Dee was an animal!!!!!!!!!!!

Those guys are all in their 60's, I think, and they still bring it.

Like Lemmy said, "We are Motorhead, and we play rock n fuckin roll!" YEAH! \m/

And, in the WTF department, while there, I saw an advertisement for Van Halen, with special guests, Kool and the Gang. What?! They couldn't find a more appropriate opening act, that can kick some ass? I mean, let's start with Cage The Elephant, or Theory of a Deadman, or Breaking Benjamin, off the top of my head.

I'm green with envy that you've seen the mighty Motorhead. We had tix for Chicago on Feb. 10th, but on consideration decided it might not be the best idea to try to drive to Chicago in February.

Hopefully there'll be another chance this summer sometime....

Motorhead ROCKED the beach at Hangout last year. I'll never forget it. I hope you get a chance to see them, Dive.

Me, too.

Hey, I haven't ruled out Hangout. Just gonna have to wait & see on the lineups...I'm not hearing many interesting rumors yet on Bonnaroo, but the roster should be out this week sometime.
