Jemma, I have no problem with you. You've certainly breathed some new life into things around here. I think maybe the problem some people have with you (aside from the troll, who clearly has his own problems to deal with) is the explicitness of some of your posts. Lustful thoughts and remarks about The Maestro are certainly not unusual or out of place here (I recall making a comment about a "package" myself), but we do try to keep it in the realm of fantasy and recognize that in real-life he is a husband and father.

That said, I do understand the feeling of being a newcomer. I felt a little out of the loop myself here until meeting a few Nutters (and Stewart!) in Dallas, and exchanging emails and Christmas cards with others. Now I feel very welcome and glad to be a part of this community. Stick around, I think you'll like it here.

I'll send you some love. xx

This is my first and only forum I've joined. I like it because it seems to be an interactive book to me.

I haven't met anybody on here.

First off- welcome noobs! I love that there are still people out there that go crazy over STEWART, all these years later. That fucking rocks- so glad you found the place!

Second- I know very little of whatever drama's going on, but from what I have read- shame on you forum members for being so closed minded. While I may not be as active as alot of you, or go way waaaaay back, I've been around for a long damn time. I've certainly professed my love of all things STEWART in my own ways as I'm 100% positive every one of us has at some point in time. It's always been accepted and embraced. I can't recall any issues with this in the past, we shouldn't be starting now. We're all adults- let's look out for each other and continue to embrace the passions our new members bring, okiedoke?

Third- I love how full circle things have become (sorta) since the reunion tour. I LOVE that STEWART posts again! AND shares his life with us, after all these years!! While I do sadly miss everything the reunion brought for us all, it's really neat to be back to "normal". Thank you STEWART for continuing to inspire, and thanks to our Italian gang for continuing to keep this place going!!

Look out! Here comes some love from Canada, Jemma!
I'm sorry you and a few other new comers have had to put up with so much crap of late. I don't think the recent negativity you've sensed is representative of this site. If you look at a few old threads that have been dug up recently, most of the time we just like to goof around here, maybe tease each other a little, but do not intend to offend.
I've been super busy these days and don't post here nearly as much as in the past. If I don't comment in a thread, please don't take it as a snub. As my time is limited, I have to be selective about what threads I even read. I have no problem with your undie design thread; it's just not my thing so I wasn't really checking it out much. When I did skim it briefly a few days ago, I realized that I really should take a better look at it sometime. I like some of your T shirt designs a lot, and I was pleased to be reminded of Dive's Cafepress stuff. (I have one of the Tshirts with the giant Stewart eye, and still love it!)
Also, don't get too worried if you post something, and people don't respond too quickly. I find that weekends tend to be a slower time around here. I think most people check out sc.net at work as a little mental break, so it's more heavily trafficked on week days. (Usually, weekends and late night are the only time I'm around here as my job actually keeps me away from the internet during working hours.) Timezones also play into it. You've got to keep in mind that European and Austrilian/Japanese Nutters are often asleep when us North Americans are posting. Of course, this place goes crazy when Stewart posts, but I think folks are giving others the headsup about Stewart posting by way of Facebook, etc. (I don't, won't & will never do Facebook, so I just have to check in when I can. I do tweet though. If the Nutter tweeps I follow wouldn't mind giving me a PSA (post by Stewart alert) via the twitterverse, it'd be greatly appreciated.
So, Jemma ... don't feel that you have to curb what you're doing. And please continue to contribute with all your "uniquetitude" (A word Stewart invented!) You make this place a better one.
xoxo Grosses bises, sloppy kisses, etc.

For the record, there's just a drama every now and then. Paging Dirty Martini...maybe we ought to resurrect a good old fashioned Flag Drama thread just for nostalgia sake. on whether to put the Flag into the Police Fan Club DVD....

Edited to add my own overwrought contribution to that era, which was linked in the thread above...

Well, you'd've been here had you known.

(True story: I am now married to a guy I went to college with, but didn't know at the time. Even though we had a lot of the same friends and lived a block apart for an entire summer. Didn't meet him till I was 30.

Every now and then, Hubs will mention a concert or other event he'd have liked to attend back then, but couldn't... he didn't have a car. So I'll say, "well, why didn't you call me? I'd have given you a ride!"

I really wonder whether I'd have had the good sense to date him, if I had known him. I think there's a better than even chance we met and don't remember it, maybe in the context of debating each other on the high school circuit. Of course, we debate each other every day now ;))

You never know what'll happen. There may be excitement ahead you'll be around for.

It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no telling where you might be swept off to.

;)

Hah! I only wish the major sock puppet kerfluffle from a couple years back (anyone else remember katieh5584? The one who claimed to have brain cancer to get sympathy posts from Stewart?) wasn't lost forever from when the forum crashed. The one that resulted in the fabulous "sockii is an asshole" thread. Now THEM were the good old days of drama!

luna, I think you put this so well I just wanted to copy & paste it again here. I think this is exactly what I've been trying to put into words for the entire past week and failing to do so properly. It's a difficult line to define precisely - as far as what's crossing it and what isn't, and I guess everyone's going to define that line differently as well. We've always enjoyed a little suggestive or bawdy fun at times here, regardless of each of our ages, relationship status, having met STEWART before or not, etc. But when it goes beyond say PG territory into R-rated land, and from simple naughty remarks into stuff that's a bit more, well, stuff I think perhaps the parents here might not want to have to try to explain to their kids, I think that's when some of us are going to say "woah now." This is after all a public forum, and Stewart's forum at that. This may be the age of over-sharing on the internet thanks to Facebook and Twitter, but we should still try to remember that some things have a proper time and place - and an official, public messageboard forum may not be the proper place for explicit fantasies even in fun and jest.

Again, I do just want to add a "welcome" to you and to all other new folks who have come through lately, if I haven't already. And a suggestion not to dwell on what might have come across as a negative response at first, or possible "mistakes" or faux pas that might have been committed. We've all had our boneheaded moments here; I've butted heads with people repeatedly who eventually ended up becoming good friends once we had the chance to really talk and get to know each other off-board. Other times, well...I just choose to ignore certain folks as much as I know they choose to ignore me 8) But try to move past any feelings of not being welcome simply because you're new, because THAT's an attitude we save for obvious trolls and sockpuppets, which you absolutely aren't.

Some of us don't have the luxury of being able to post and read all the posts much of the day. And I know some users still have to rely on dial-up to access the forum. So, don't take it personally if some users perceive that others are ignoring them because that is certainly not the case. That said, keep up the enthusiasm! I love it when new blood enters the land of Copelandia even when I can't keep up with all the conversations. We have a great diverse group of interesting people here who are awesome! Hopefully those noobs (I bid a welcome to all!) and others who haven't had the chance to meet other nutters will someday experience that magic as to me that is always the highlight of an event, even more so than the force that brings us together to meet in the first place!

I believe in freedom of speech. And the freedom to disagree.

I've made my fare share of comments about shorty shorts myself, so, I'm not going there ;-)

This forum is certainly entertaining - the conversations, the youtube goodies, and the drama. I think some folks really get too serious about things, in general, not just here. If someone disagrees with you, it is not necessarily a personal attack, just their opinion, which they are entitled to have. JMHO.

welcome jemma - I am typically a "lurker" & weigh in very infrequently but I have my moments from time to time. From my perspective, I have found your posts add a new life to the board, things were getting a bit stale & slow (Ignore the trolls, that type usually melts away after a while). For 99.9% of the time, folks are good hearted here.

And don't worry 'bout the undies, I suspect Himself was amused by your crushdom. Rock on, girl!
