George Harrison died 10 years ago today on November 29, 2001. Thinking good thoughts and enjoying the great and under-appreciated music of my favorite Beatle.

A man who wonderful wrote songs such as Here Comes the Sun, While My Guitar Gentle Weeps, and Something in the shadows of the great song writers Lennon and McCartney, and who had some excellent solo albums such as All Things Must Pass, Living in the Material World, and Brainwashed (released after his death). (He also had some quite forgettable albums such as Dark Horse and Gone Troop).

George also organized the first big superstar rock concert for a cause in the Concert for Bangladesh.

Here is to George!!

Ditto.
For any fan of George, "George Harrison - Living in the Material World" the recent Martin Scorsese documentary is a MUST see.
It’s amazing. The footage is unbelievable, brought back so many memories of growing up with George and his music.

I was really pleased yesterday that a site I write for, Squidoo, chose a page about George for their Lens of the Day.

Always was a fan, and always thought he never got the merit he deserved for his musical and humanitarian efforts.

RIP, Quiet Beatle.

I'd also recommend the new "Material World" book that goes along with the TV series. A ton of new photos and such that are previously unpublished - well worth the $24 or so that it costs, IMO.

Watched Part 1 of the Scorsese documentary last night, and it really is pretty amazing. Really fascinating, talented man.
