The Apple homepage says it all right now.

I know I'm not the only one here who's life and productivity was impacted by his work, especially those of us in creative and artistic fields. The world of computers will never be the same. I just feel heartsick over the news, even if it was not entirely unexpected.

I dunno what to say, other than this is just... so... weird. Yesterday he was here, and now he's just... gone. No more jeans and black turtlenecks, no more "And one more thing..."'s (at least not in the way he did it)...

Everyone was speculating he'd show up at yesterday's event, and he never did. I don't think that there will be any more speculation...

I just heard this on the news an hour ago. So sad. I just hope that he didn't hear any of the negative feedback on Apple's latest release, the not IPhone 5.
Rest In Peace, Mr. Jobs. I hope to become your customer soon.

Created the program for my Senior Recital (college) on my wife's old (like, the very first) Mac, as well as countless papers. Good times.

Darn shame. RIP Mr. Jobs.

It was a rough night at Chez KelMo. We don't own all the cool whizzy gadgets and things, but Mo's whole career essentially exists because some hippie-nerd in CA built a Mac. Jobs made it possible to make art without chemicals or math.* He brought aesthetics to technology. He helped make the machine human.

He pushed past boundaries and looked at things differently than the rest of us. A true pioneer.

A large portion of us found out he died on a gadget he helped create. Ironic.

The first thing I heard when I got up today. I'm so sad. The only thing I could say is rest in peace Steve.

I remember using MacPaint for the first time in the early 80's.
The Mac revolutionized typesetting, graphic arts and the printing industry in general. Every printshop I've worked in had a Macintosh platform for all pre-press applications.

An extraordinarily brilliant man, who was still warm enough to fix the Old Mac computer of a friend of a friend of a friend. Thanks Steve. If anyone can shore up the communication problem with the other side, it will be you.
