Yes!
Wait... no! I live nowhere near there and I'm never awake to see the show. Bummer.
Well perhaps I can make an exception... wait, so the show will air on the same day, right? Like I said, I don't watch it normally.

Thanks so much, Senor Seitz.
Let's compare notes on those trivia questions, shall we? Yikes. I know a few things but am far from an expert...
(Not sure I can come even if I score tix - am hauling it getting ready for an art competition - but I am looking way forward to hearing all about it in any event!!)
And oh, hey, welcome Soundragon! Always good to see new smiling faces around here...even if they wait a little while to post

I am totally going to try for this, even if I don't get a call/screw up the trivia. Been too long since I've had the chance to see SC and getting to NY for the day is no problem for me! Apparently they do also give out same-day tickets based on availability starting at 11am at the Ed Sullivan Theater, but even there you may need to answer a trivia question to get one.
I suggest becoming familiar with the Letterman show wikipedia page - from some research I did it seems they tend to ask questions like who is the show producer/music director/band drummer, stuff like that. I've made a little cheat sheet I'm carrying with me just in case!

Oh and hey - since you're allowed to fill in a guest name on the request, can we try to help each other out by giving an available nutter's name as a guest (if you don't have someone planned to come-with, of course?)

Welcome, Soundragon!
I'm going to take a pass, but some advice for those giving it a shot: dress nicely and be prepared to mind the hell out of your manners. Many friends have done the Letterman thing, and all have reported that the staff are real sticklers about neatness and obedience. Sloppy clothes/hair, logos, etc., get seated in the back or not at all, and your best line of action is to sit quietly with your hands folded in your lap.
Good luck, peeps!
Good show, Stewart!
Thanks for the scoop, Seitz!

I wonder what song he will play? Jeff says he will be playing with Paul and the band, so it seems unlikely that it will be something like Gene Pool. So will it be a Police song? If so, Jeff also says it will be one of STEWART's compositions. Hmm. No Time This Time would be the best Police song to fit the theme of Drum Solo Week (or at least better than the rest) but I don't think that would be considered a STEWART composition. Can't imagine it being Miss Gradenko, Does Everyone Stare, Any Other Day, or even Don't Box Me In. Man, its gotta be a non-Police song, but what song can he play that Paul and Band could play as well?
Any guesses?

Guess it's pointless to hope for "Army's on Ecstasy"...
Maybe a new Gizmo thing. Seriously. Why not?

I entered but put the wrong F'ing date in the first time I was doing it so fast. D"oh!
Dang it.
But, I tried again and used a different phone/email.
I've been looking to a reason to take a day off AND go to NYC to see some exhibits.
This may just be the thing.
*fingers crossed*
Checking Letterman's Wiki is good idea Sockii.

Jose, the last time Dave did a Drum Solo week, the clips of the featured drummers were posted at Letterman's site on CBS.com and easily found on Youtube. So I doubt anyone will miss seeing this regardless of where you live.

I think he should play Fields Of Gold at 200 mph, just to see Sting have a stroke
