Does anyone have the newer (1986) version of De Do Do Do De Da Da Da? I would love to hear it. I never have...

Thanks in advance!

Yes, me too! I'd love to hear how that turned out.

It turned out yucky, in my opinion. :(

Of course, you need to hear it yourself to form your own opinion.

I have the LP and I don't think I've taken it out to listen to since it first came out. I might just have to go home tonight and give it a listen just to see if I still feel the same way. I'm pretty sure I will because I can hear it in my head right now and I'm still not thrilled by it. I have to wonder if Sting was the arranger of that new version or if Andy and Stewart had any input?

Wow! I didn't even know about this '86 version of "De Doo." My internet research says it's only available on the dts version of Every Breath You Take, The Classics, released in 2000. Thanks for making mention of it, as I'll definitely be seeking it out. :o

wait johnnyO. You must have edited your post, because you had "'86 version of don't stand" up there before, which is what I was responding to. There is no '86 version of De do do do. At least to my knowledge, there isn't.

Bella,

No, I was speaking of the 1986 version of De Do Do Do... It was released (finally) in 2001 on the DTS version of the Greatest Hits.

If anyone could post it, it sounds like there are a number of folks who have not heard it yet...

Yuck, I hate this version.

If the rest of the 6th album was going to be like that, we wern't missing anything.

imagine the folowing:
Sting: "ok put Yo hoho and dododo 86 out"... today i vould never subscribe to any idea of police reunion.

If we consider they did this track dododo 86, we clearly undersdand there was no possibility to go on !! Spliting was the best thing to do. Thanks so much mr Sting.
things are different today, i think.
regards

Yeah, I'd like to hear it now, too. Even if it probably is as bad as Don't stand '86, I still need to check it out.

I read in an online review that the remake is better than the original and WAY better than "Don't Stand So Close 1986".

Anyone have it????

it's not a finished version
way worse than the 1986 versions of DON'T (which I like, for they had no real drummer at that time)

you can still buy the DTS Greatest Hits, so why don't you all?
but you have to make sure that you can play the DTS surround sound on your DVD player

Ah yes, the little blue glowing light on my home theatre. I love it when I get a movie and that little blue light comes on.
