HEAVY CLOUD NO RAIN...real meaning?

Hey everybody, as most of you know, I'm working on the book based on the meaning of Sting/The Police lyrics.
I'm at TEN SUMMONER'S TALES; concerning HEAVY CLOUD NO RAIN Sting says there is a connection with sexual frustration; now...I have a couple of options of what he wants to say...maybe you can tell me if there is a way of saying in English that from his words might sounds clearer?
There is also the story of LOUIS XVI and his astrologer, where the rain may postpone the execution of ... the astrologer of the King? Sorry but I get a little confused here...
Or maybe I am totally dumb...

As to the rest of the book, I am very very happy about it, I discovered so many details about Sting songwriting that makes me listen to some songs with a different ear now.
Thanks for all your help, I'm sure you can enlight me on HEAVY CLOUD NO RAIN
Gio

Ps.: I still miss the meaning of OMEGAMAN, and Stewart told me it could be about the movie...but he wasn't sure Andy really got that inspiration

Well, since I stopped listening to Sting after his second solo album, I won't comment on the 10 Summoner's Tales, but this is response is in reference to you saying that you are still not clear about Andy's Omegaman. I think this is a theme that has shown up not only in US movies, but in lot's of Science Fiction, even older SciFi. The character is descibing his situation as an observer of not only himself, but what he perceives as going on around him. This maybe after some sort of disruptive event for his society, or maybe just to himself, but the result is some degree of detachment in the narrative. Either society has failed, for everyone, or Society has failed the character in his perspective. Either way, he is now somone or something with his own view/objectives, like survival, or a fantasy, or a sudden more primitive exsistance, or even a psychotic break w/ his surroundings(hope not! ). If y'all have had the US movie 'Book of Eli' come over to Italy, the storyline of that movie might better explain what I have tried to put into words.
Hey, my best friend, her husband, and their 2 kids are in Roma for the next 3 weeks. He is teaching a class, w/ an apartment provided, so she and the kids came over for a last family holiday (both kids are in graduate school). I requested that they PLEASE go to see the Forum, just for me the old Latin student! They all love Italia, have made several teaching related trips! Especially the food!

It seems to me to be describing a sense of anticipation or expectation, with no relief in sight. Like the atmosphere before a storm, heavy and tense, but with no release of that energy.

ditto luna's comments about the build up of pressure and no relief despite it looking likely...

i aslo found this quote, attributed to gordo, but i don't know when from:

[Sting]: We had a big drought in England. But um...A lot of rivers were drying up in England, believe it or not. That green and pleasant land was suffering from a lack of rain, so I started to write this song, "Heavy Cloud No Rain. I think originally it was called "Heavy Guitar No Brain," but we uh, (laughs) we developed this thing. I just like this idea of Louis XVI having an astrologer who would tell him that his, his (laughs again), his execution could be postponed if it rained, y'know? Cause they would...y'know? So he looks up in the sky and says, "Well its heavy cloud, but no rain." It's kinda funny."

"Heavy Guitar, No Brain"

Gio, I hope your book gets published. Craig Betts just posted on Facebook that his Police book--which he spent a long time on and got MANY contributions from people associated with The Police--is no longer happening due to a legal block by: Guess Who (hint: this person is responsible for killing Police Around The World on DVD).

Oh no....I will write to him soon.
Yes, my book is on his way to go to be pressed soon...I'm working on the last few details, today I was writing about some lyrics not included on the normal catalogue records, such as I Burn For You, Conversation With A Dog, Black & White Army, and tomorrow will go on with some more tracks.
In a week I should have completed the whole thing; Sunday I will go and see Sting in Brescia, and hopefully I may have a few minutes to talk to him about a few more details, but I'm not sure I can get in touch with him, as usually I do when he's around promoting, rarely while he's on tour.

Really?!? Shit. I'm sure that would have been a great book.
