VHS to DVD transfer suggestions

Do any nutters here know of or offer transfer services for VHS to DVD? I've got quite a few misc. Stewart/Klark Kent bits I'd like to have transferred. The flipside is that I've got so many other videotapes I should probably just invest in a DVD recorder and do it myself. Any suggestions on that front as well? Models, etc.? I'm in the US, btw.

Thanks.
Mark

I've had a Panasonic DVD/VCR combo unit for a few years and really love it. Works great. Definitely cheaper in the long run than paying to have someone convert stuff for you.

Thanks for the recommendation. You're right about cost. I've got totes full of tapes just waiting to be transferred.

Mark,

Yeah, the guy I work with does it as a hobby. (Dont ask!) I have shared the results with Moonstone and LTWoman. They can probably vouch for the results.

By the way...I really enjoyed the book and CD! The CD is in heavy rotation on my playlist. the book was everything I thought it would b...and more!

Thanks, Ken. Glad you enjoyed them. There are actually several more projects currently in the works. One is a CD of more story-oriented tracks ala "Turkey Cobra." Another is a 365 day-type calendar filled with stories and Sleepytownisms.

I use a Canapus (not sure if the spelling is correct) converter that connects to my computer via USB and then capture it using just iMovie (I'm a Mac guy).
