Foo fighters just released the entire new album online streaming in advance of their 4/12 release.

That's confidence. ok, I preordered already, but even if I hadn't, I'd be ordering it now after hearing the whole damn thing.
I mean, recorded. Heard it live a few weeks ago.

Is it 4/5 yet? or 4/12?

*is excited*

I'm WAY excited for the new Foos as well. I was not hot on their last CD other than some fantastic singles, but this sounds like a great comeback. I was concerned about Vig producing since the tracks he produced on the greatest hits CD was total stinkers (Wheels? My GAWD)

Wheels was secretly Tom Petty. or Dave channelling Tom Petty.

Butch Vig is a force to be reckoned with. Srsly. I just think he and Dave just had to figure out how to work together (read: Dave had to not be in control of every tiny little thing...)

:)

It is SWEET. 'nuff said.

Oooh I like it! Recorded in Grohl's garage in San Fernando Valley. Nice!

I'm one of those annoying bitches who has been gobsmackingly lucky enough to fret about whether the recorded album will sound as good as it did live. It does. Gobsmackingly good.

I think it's the Foos realizing, as so many other recording artists should do these days, that record sales are not the be-all and end-all of success in today's music world. Live music and supplemental merchandise/marketing is where it's at. Streaming the album is ballsy and cool and proves they don't have their heads up their asses about it. Most of the serious fans will still buy it, of course...and in the meantime they'll likely pick up a lot more who will show up at their concerts later this year, buy t-shirts, etc. Ya can't download that!

Oh, and I still haven't heard the new stuff yet but looking forward to having the time to do so....
