OK, I'm finally putting Police goodies on my ipod. Drooooooooool
I figured a snow day is a good day to listen to all of this stuff again and decide what's ipod worthy.
On disc 4, track 14 - Message In A Bottle live... where is that from? Was it on one of the picture discs? The star shaped or badge shaped ones? I remember it but ... I'm officially getting old, lol.
And it's been WAY too long since I listened to the WBCN concert. Thunk!

Next question... I thought Hole in My Life was on the Synch Concert? It's not on the live cd. Hmmm. Am I getting my bootlegs mixed up?!

Here's some info from the Police Wiki for the Live cd:
"This is not a complete 1983 setlist, as obviously Walking On The Moon, Hole In My Life, Invisible Sun, One World and Murder By Numbers were left out."

Hole In My Life was part of the original Showtime concert, later released as the Synchronicity Concert video release. It's not on the Live! CD that Andy put together in the mid-90's, most likely due to time considerations.
The live version of Message In A Bottle from the Box is on the 6-pointed picture badge of Message. It's also on Classic Rock Box, an early 90's 4-CD set put together by WNEW-FM 102.7.

Good news - I found a bootleg of the Synchronicity concert with all the missing goodies on it! And I took the opportunity to re-organize my Police stuff while I was wading through it all. Next up are Stewart & Andy, but tomorrow.

It was also on the "Wrapped Around Your Finger" 4-song 12" EP, which included "I Burn For You" and "Someone To Talk To". BTW, that's probably my least favorite version. The boys were not feeling it that night.

Next question - is the original recording of the Equalizer theme available on cd? I have the Equalizer and other Cliffhangers on vinyl, but that doesn't help me get it to my ipod. I don't have it on cd. Would I be able to find it on ebay or does it not exist?
Edited to add:
I just bought it on ebay. Sweet!
Edited to add:
I'm an ass. And a blind one at that. I found my Equalizer cd under another one. After I looked for it twice earlier.
Good news though - finished uploading Copeland... moving on to Summers.

I saw in the parking lot of work that someone had Message in a Box on thier car seat. I don't know who that co-worker is, but they have good taste in music.

i used to LOVE that 12" and pacifically (sic) that live version... i can remember lying, aged 13 or so, on the floor in the front room at home with headphones on..... "this is called message in a bottle", deyow-yow from andy before the riff starts..it's the version that plays in my head when i think of MIAB live...
regarding downloading; i tend to think that if i've bought something in one format that its ok to then download it from a blog. morally defensible, not so sure about in court though...

There's also a very cool edit version of The Equalizer on the 7" single. It's done by William Orbit! It's awfully close to the TV version.
BTW Love Lessons is the B-side.
There was an ambush in the park...
