OK, I gotta see Peart for myself. They're playing here next April so I laid out the dough.

Think they're covering 'Moving Pictures,' too. Anybody else catching the tour?

Wow Dive!

I hope you have a fabulous time. I'd love to see Rush live.

Your John Lennon picture is stunning by the way.

Thanks! I also drew Paul...drop me an email if you wanna see it. (divemistressofthedark at yahoo dot com) I'm currently working on a portrait of Abe Lincoln (long story) and one of my husband. I gotta learn to oil paint if I'm going to hang out the shingle this year...

Anyway: Rush. It's just the kind of thing that when they play in your town and you can swing the ticket, you frigging go, or you're sorry later. I'm already kinda sorry I missed Tom Petty/Clapton...

Rush is fabulous (and fabulous fun) live. You will NOT regret going! I'm sure vespa and I will catch the tour next year as we missed the first leg of it and I heard rave reviews from some of my friends about it. We loved them on the Snakes & Arrows tour.

Its good. Neil's solo is good but just a touch inferior to the one from his last tour. Worth it to see Vital Signs alone.

You can't blame me for it.

I am not and never have been a Rush fan. So am not catching the tour.

Still hope you have a good time.

Oops. After watching Behind the Lighted Stage I want to go too!

Edited to add:

I just bought tix to see them at MSG on my Birthday! I got lucky - looks like they went on sale on Friday, and I missed it. I'm surprised it didn't sell out right away. I did see the Roll the Bones tour but that was um, a while ago, lol!

Can't beleve they're extending the tour so long. I'd go but the Chicago date is a bit too close to the arrival of Baby #2. Besides, I've already seen both of the previous Chicago shows, so I'm not too bummed.

Dive you won't regret it at all- in the last 15 years of seeing them, this was best tour for me, bar none. They absolutely kicked ass, and put on such a great ROCK show. It also helped that I had awesome seats, and that I got to hear The Camera Eye live (one of my all time favs). I have crappy videos of when I saw them in Sept that I never put online.... may need to do so now.

And who knows, maybe the infectious enthusiasm of a 90% male nerd crowd will go a little ways to boost the experience for ya! ;)

It completely and totally kicked ass. (Sorry I forgot to post here after I SQUEEEE'd all over FB - mea culpa.) I went in sort of mildly curious and came out a big ol fan. I've already bought a couple of the later albums - I really enjoyed the deep tracks, having sort of figured the setlist would be "song I know, then I'll be bored," lather rinse and repeat...

But all three guys were just awesome. Lifeson can just shred, Geddy playing the keyboard and the bass and singing at the same time, and Peart...well, what can I say here that hasn't been said.

Could just kick myself for not having gone before, but I won't be missing another of their tours. Thanks all, for the encouragement.

(I know Kim went this last week too, maybe she'll weigh in...)

Ha! Another convert!

They're playing here (Chicago) tonight. I'm a little sad that I didn't get tix, but I'm so exhausted from prepping for Boy #2, I'd probably fall asleep.

Glad you had a good time!

Yes, I saw them Sunday at Madison Square Garden. We went to Mustang Harry's for dinner and they were showing the Masters instead of playing Rush to get us in the mood - not cool! As soon as the lights went down, everyone around us lit up, lol. They went on at 8:15, played for more than an hour, then took a 20 minute break, then did Moving Pictures in its entirety. They did play some deep tracks and new songs I didn't know, but it didn't matter - all the songs sounded great. Both Geddy and Alex lit it up. Neil did a drum solo near the end. I was surprised because I thought he would have been out of gas by then, but apparently not, holy crap! They were still playing when we left at 10:55. We had to make it to Grand Central to get an 11:40 train, or Monday morning would have been ugly! OK, who can tell me why they have washing machines onstage?

Did you guys see the movie I Love You Man? Rush figures prominently. The guys from the movie make an appearance here:
