Stewart Copeland 13 Nov, I'm meeting the promo-lady

Two days ago I got an email from the lady who does the marketing and promotion for the TROMP percussion Festival in the Netherlands where Stewart Copeland will give a performance. (On 13 November).
There are still tickets (around 130) for sale and she wanted to talk with me because I am "in the scene" (as she said) and maybe I could help her start a buzz, give some tips. She also offered to (maybe) find a place for our gathering the night before the show. We are looking for a place to make some music.

I'm meeting her this afternoon. Does anybody have some tips? Questions I should ask her?

Uhm...tell her there is a well organised bunch of people following Stewart, that's all I can say.
I am personally dealing with Gert at the Productiehuis Muzieklab Brabant, as well as Gaby Hendrickx from Tromp.

Gaby and I had a very nice conversation. The organisation of the festival Tromp and the venue loved the idea that we are organising something (a get-together) and they are willing to help us. We exchanged some tips and she promised to sent me some promo-material and copies of interviews!

I guess she got in touch with you as you're up there, in Holland...ehehe; of course is always better to deal with someone who speaks your language and who can be easy to be reached and talk to directly. You are a very active forumer and knows what's behind it, so why not.

Sure it would be great to have a get-together meeting the previous day in the evening; I guess that to plan something like I had in mind, with a sort of concert made of Stewart tracks only it's not anymore possible, not having a club and a 'band-of-us' already confirmed, but, hey, if you can anyway find a place and there is an open jam on stage, something cool can be done...I'm used to jam on everything.

Do we trust Maud? - hell yes!

If we can arrange to meet on Friday I am sure there will be music, even if we can only sing and drum on tables/chairs/people. It will be good.

Pfft. I doubt anyone with a pulse got through that gig without emitting a high decibel squeem or ten (you KNOW you did Tamadude - lol). And the lady's a bloomin' genius at organising stuff.

Gio: you are right. It's much easier to talk with someone in your own language and in person. It happens also that Gaby is living in the same town as me. Even more convenient.
So the jam-thing is off? Unless I find a free stage with instruments and a backline
I will keep looking for a nice place to get together the evening before the show. That Friday night there will be the "Popronde" in Eindhoven. That's a festival which travels from city to city. During the festival a LOT of dutch new bands present themselves. A lot of venues, bars etc have a stage with a band.

Shall I also try to find a place to eat? Who will be there? Let me know.

I can't make it to Eindhoven on Friday night, but I'll be there on Saturday (and most of the Sunday until I have to catch the train back to Groningen again).
