30 Rock's Jack Donaghy on Sting...

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet! I just watched Thursday night's episode of 30 Rock last night. Jack Donaghy, Alec Baldwin's executive character, finds out he is going to have a son and nervous about being an old dad records a dvd of advice to be viewed after his death. I'm paraphrasing but at one point he says, "On your Wedding Day, don't hire Sting for the musical entertainment. He will insist on playing jazz versions of Police songs." Ha ha, classic!

   ...my boyfriend Brian brought this up to me the day after this aired-he KNEW I'd get a kick! Brian was also the one who brought a New Yorker 'mini-poem' from an issue last month to my attention. It was titled something like to a middle-aged musician who is not on the page as he used to be: "Oh Sting, where is Thy death?" (much funnier if yer familiar w/ the Bible verse that the author turns inside out for this!).
Go Alec/Jack!

Omaha,

You left out the punch line at the end of Jack's advise!
"And that's so demoralizing" lol

I've been meaning to post about this since last Thursday, so I was glad to see Omaha had already done so. Totally unexpected line, delivered perfectly. Hilarious. Okay, back to lurking...

It's because we all posted it on facebook instead. lol

I was here in my computer room and heard it on the TV in the other room. It was a crack up. I will have to hulu it online so I can actually SEE Jack Donaghy bust on him.

Nice find! I recall Alec Baldwin was at the Live Earth concert and they zoomed in on him during The Police set several times. Maybe he is a true Police fan!
