Talk about a shitty way to die - a freak car accident involving a 50-stone hay bale:

According to another article, he'd just recovered from a battle with cancer and depression as well. Alas.

Vespa is to blame for getting me into ELO...was totally one of "his bands" who I'd never really listened to that closely before the past few years.

*sigh*

very tragic.....
I always remember when a new ELO vinyl came out my brother and i would bicycle to Grants (remember them!) to buy the album...go home and wait for my parents to be out of the house....we would put the vinyl on his Pioneer turntable with "quadrophonic" speakers, blast the volume to ten and listen closely for the newest ELO gadgetry...there was always a twist on their albums....very innovative band
Life is good when you have great sunsets and sockii everyday!!

No...that's too terrible(:
Oh no, accident after he got over the fight with cancer!?
Too terrible!
My 1st ELO song was "Last Train To London"
I was a school girl at that time, and stayed up late to listen to the radio in my room.
Then this beautiful song was streaming from my radio.
This song became one of altime my favorites since I've heard it the 1st time...
R.I.P. and be happy in heaven.
Oh My God they killed Kenny

I got a lot of ribbing for loving that band.. Turn to Stone is probably my favorite, with Fire On High right behind. In fact, one of my most prized possessions is my Purple Fire On High 45. I thought I was such hot shit when I could play the drum part to Don't Bring Me Down.

Didn't Richard Tandy pass away a while back, or am I imagining it?

What a shame. I have a special fondness for crazy cellists. I'm in a band with one.

RIP Mike
