Police Day: ever have one?

Police Day: ever have one?

Postby Divemistress of the Dark on 13 Aug 2010 00:39

All day today, one Police song after another. Got in the car, local radio: 'Every Breath You Take.' In the big box store: 'Don't Stand.' Fast food joint: 'KOP.' Just now, car again, satellite radio: 'Man in a Suitcase.'

Is this a cosmic message? Is something going on?

Anyone else ever have one of these?

They played "Murder By Numbers" on First Wave at almost the exact same time during my commute home two days in a row this week. It's Synchronicity (and from it!!!).

I've had bizarre "synchronistic" moments when I get in my car and say "The Police is being played right now." I spin the dial and sure enough I'll find something on some station. My friends think I'm strange.

But a "Police Day" would be an excellent idea! What date would we choose?

I had a day like that yesterday. I changed the radio station 3 times in an hour to a new station & each time I changed it there was a Police song playing. It was great.

Just someone called Emma Thompson, I've never heard of her.

Sorry for the threadjack Dive and yes I've had if not exactly a Police day but Police moments. I've always got the radio on at home and often when I'm chatting on SC Net a Police song comes on and it's often one that has just come up in conversation here. Strange but true.

i've got 11,687 songs on my ipod,.
42 songs by Andy
182 songs by Stewart
241 Gordo and
432 songs by the police. so, that's , erm....... >to self> carry the four.... add the 2......

that's a chance of a Police or related tune once every 13 songs.............

oh, so i guess it's not that incredible the songs come on all the time.

I think First Wave on Sirius is digging into the back catalog. Today: "Demolition Man"

(non-USers: Sirius is a US based satellite radio system, and First Wave is the station that plays so-called alternative hits from the 80s. It's pretty good, generally, except they have about three New Order, Depeche Mode, and Cure songs on heavy rotation to the point that I sail for the remote when I hear the opening strains of 'Blue Monday'...

Oh, and - I'm getting sort of addicted to BBC1, which they stream but which is tape-delayed five hours. Drives me nuts to keep thinking I'm going to be able to phone in requests, only to realize it's the middle of the night for you Londoners...)

Unfortunately, this is true on all the music channels to which I listen on Sirius. And the compression on most of the channels is awful. It's bad enough that I am thinking about not renewing my subscription and just sticking with my iPod.
