Tell us your POLICE CONCERT DREAM (Set List)

Tell us your POLICE CONCERT DREAM (Set List)

Postby Jose on 08 Aug 2010 19:54

Only a dream... we know if so hard THE POLICE will reunited again... play with your imagination and build your perfect set list and concert... taking the reasonable concept that will be a new type of concert THE POLICE never played... So I think, as a crazy idea, that THE POLICE could play a set list they never played before, something obscure, something mature and minimalist with only the band in a center scenary surround by an intimate audience mixing the unplugged and electronic only playing their POLICE songs they never played, plus some songs they played in a few occasions or B-sides and some they put a very few times on the last "Reunion 2007-2008 Tour" ...

Well here is my set list that no more than 18 songs:

1. Tea in the Sahara
2. Omegaman
3. Miss Gradenko
4. Once upon a daydream
5. Murder by numbres
6. It's allright for you
7. Rehumanize yourself
8. Darkness
9. Behind my Camel
10. Born in the 50's
11. Man in a Suitcase
12. No Time this Time
13. Bombs Away
14. The Bed's too big without you
15. Canary in a Coalmine
16. Too Much Information
17. Voices Inside my Head
18. Bring on the night

Jose, is you set list in the order that you would like to hear the songs in?

I will have to think about mine for a bit.

I write it in a rush, perhaps thinking more into the rythm to ordered into a perfect set list could be nice... but I definitely think the boys could need some slow songs after some fast songs, also depends on what kind of versions they could play it...

About the scenary I think on big candels, big pieces of white silk, color lights, big led screens into old fashionable frames, the three of them sitting, black and white floor, and some POLICE memorabilia like scenic elements (for example the skeletor, the unicorn or phone like into the "Synchronicity Trailer")

PS: I am not sure is it more appropriate "One World" than "Rehumanize Yourself" or "Peanuts" than "Once upon a daydream"... I would like to heard "Canary in a Coalmine" like an instrumental tune and thinks like this

No problem... this thread has the intention to everybody publish their own dream set list as a creative exercise (but into an alternative POLICE show with obscure and rare songs they never played or played it a few times) 8)

No need to apologize for ELTSDIM. I think that is one of the boys' most popular songs here at SC.net. It's certainly in my top 3.

Can you give me an example of a pussified version of Murder by Number? Are you talking start of the tour Vancouver Murder or is there some other version to which you are referring.

Yo,

Any version of MBN that doesn't start with Stew's drum part is pussified IMHO. Much prefer this one:

I think we are all thinking too small here.

My fantasy set list would take much longer than just one concert. It would be more like an all Police music festival. They'd run through all of their material, in the order of their choice. And, because I'd want them absolutely raging their way through all of it, it would be broken into two hour sets with naps in between (for them and the audience). It would close with a set of all new material. And, THERE WOULD BE NO CLICK TRACK and an entire stage full of giant gongs.

Somewhere in there would be a banquet with fried cheese curds for Deitmar.
