Stew and Andy - Just Do It!

If Mrs. Sting sees the Police as a disposable asset, I think it's time for Andy and Stew to show what the Police really was, a creative modern force. Take the Andy and Stew songs, select Police album tracks never (or rarely) played before, get a singer and some side musicians and hit the large theatre circuit. "An Evening with Copeland and Summers" type thing. Think of the potential set list and wonderful oddities that would be displayed:

Peanuts
Sally
Fallout
M Tanga
Dead End Job
Regatta (with CHA's)
Deathwish
Does Everyone Stare
On Any Other Day
Behind My Camel
Bombs Away
The Other Way of Stopping
Omegaman
Darkness
Gradenko
Mother
Once Upon A Daydream
Murder By Numbers (un-pussified)
Someone To Talk To
... and on and on...

I'd buy my tickets NOW! 8)

Hmmm... Interesting idea, but no thanks!

I don't much care for Sting flogging the old catalog continuously trying to make something new out of it and this seems to be very much along those same lines. I would much prefer that Copeland and Summers spend their creative energy making something NEW, either together or independently, rather than re-make something that doesn't need to be re-made.

I would give just about anything to see Bombs Away live. Was it ever on a setlist somewhere in the faded past? I bet I can find out on the Wiki.

I second that.

(And where did you see Mrs. Sting say that?)

Got it! How cheap of him to say that.

I agree that they should do something together, but new music..as in "The Summers/copeland project" which could be an idea of taking some of those impro parts from the Police cataloque and expanding on them, plus some of the music they may have peend for a The Police treatement but was never done (they must both have some gems that stingo refused). Of course it would be a fans album, but would probably sell more than their respective solo stuff put together...I could imagine a modern reworking of Masoka Tango...they could get in some great bass players as guest..but stay instrumental? no voice...They could then do a small tour and throw in a few classics that we all missed on Tourzilla...with some guest vocalists (Taylor Hawkins, Nek, Dietmar...)

Ironically However, I don't beleive that they could work together as a duo in the studio...even without Sting's pain in the arse personality..;and of course they wouldn't be ready to accept that the media would negatively brand the project " A Police album without Sting" even if it had nothing to do with the Police. However, it could work...The Plant/Page album was relatively well recieved..;but then again Plant was the singer.

But I get the feeling thjat altho we don'ty think so, they probably both have numerous personnal projects on the go that they are more interessted in getting finished first.

An interesting concept, but even Stewart himself said in Better Than Therapy - "The Police is not about making new music" or something to that degree. I believe he would have the same opinion whether it was two or all three of them together.

As far as playing live, they did play with Incubus, so anything is possible. How about resurrect Animal Logic w/Andy! woohoo!
