There was a bear attack in Kentucky lately, which is somewhat unheard-of. Unfortunately they're now trying to find the bear so they can kill it. Not sure what I think of that policy, since stupid tourists often try to hand-feed them in the Smokies.
[on football] My thoughts entirely though I'm very careful where I say it out loud.
You know, it's a little different being a footy fan here in the U.S., where it's not such a big deal. You're actually considered a little bit of a renegade. Or a pinko leftist, if you believe the Glenn Beck crowd (apparently anything not USA-centric is suspect these days.) Some folks hereabouts hope for a higher profile on "soccer," as we call it, but I'd bet my boots the NFL owners are paying big bucks to see that doesn't happen.
Just got back from Chincoteague, VA which is a way awesome beachfront community and a national wildlife preserve. Saw some cool critters (our first loon!), ate a slew of seafood, did some hanging out on the beach with some good friends. Luckily no tarballs. It was nice to see seabirds not coated in glop, since there are so many photos of them in the news these days.
