Reference to The Police on the exclusive U2 LP

I was checking the news about the triple vynil that U2 are giving to the subscribers on their official website.
ARTIFICIAL HORIZON is a limited edition set curated by the band, presented on purple vinyl in a customised, wide-spined sleeve. Running to 60 minutes, this triple-vinyl album features 13 tracks remixed by some of the world's leading DJs and producers....

On the track-bt-track details on the web I noticed the following:

7. Beautiful Day (David Holmes Remix)
'typically lo-fi crunch and bass line open up ‘Beautiful Day'... sounds an awful lot like The Police at their perfect punk-pop best'

You can listen the first 30/40 seconds of the song...to me it sounds fantastic, but I would rather say it's more like U2 early days instead of The Police at their 'punk-pop' best....judge by yourself. Anyway, reading about The Police is always a good thing.

I have nothing to contribute to this thread, but I just had to point out that Gio bears an uncanny resemblance to the late Uncle Ian in latest avatar photo.

gotta love david holmes.. he is an amazing funk and northern soul DJ (his BBC radio1 essential mix from 1997 is still consistently voted one of the bet mixes ever done), his own early studio stuff is dancey and sample heavy (and fantastic), later studio stuff with the Free Association is modern funk at its very best, a great producer, film scores (oceans 11 trilogy and others) and he's evidently not bad with guitars............

i like david holmes and hate U2, i'm torn.

Uh...the first time I met Jordan some years ago (Ian was still alive) the first thing he said was 'you look like my Uncle Ian....'
