Stanley Clarke on U.S. tour...

Just noticed he's playing my humble burg April 9. (Same week as some great Nashville session cats cover Outlandos d'Amour: http://www.thelongplayers.com/) Woo and hoo.

April 30 - New Orleans, NO Jazz Festival

May 2 - Austin Texas, One World Theatre

May 6-9 - Seattle, WA Jazz Alley

May 11-12 - Yoshi's Oakland, CA

May 13-14 - Yoshi's San Francisco, CA

May 31 - Atlanta Atlanta Jazz Festival

June 3-6 - Washington DC Blues Alley

June 11 - Detroit, MI - Motor City Casino

June 20 - Boston, MA - Berklee Performance Center

June 23 - NYC Summerstage Central Park

August 7 - Telluride Jazz Fest

ETA: Well, hell. Only seating left is $100 a ticket, before service fees. Probably gonna have to sit this one out. Hope others have better luck.

I saw him live years ago on the "Stanley Clarke and Friends" tour (with Billy Cobham on drums) and it ranks among my favorite live shows. He is truly amazing to watch. And Cobham ain't to shabby either. :P

i saw him with, erm, animal logic in 1989 (!!!! fuck i feel old)... some drummer dude was quite good.
the man has certainly got some chops and is great in front of a small crowd, just plays to the audience.

I saw him last year in the DC area. Very enjoyable.

I had wnated to see him with Animal Logic but wasn't able to.
