Police w/o Stew and Andy

I saw today that Billy Corrigan is releasing a new album this year under the Smashing Pumpkins moniker, without any original members other than himself. Courtney Love is doing the same thing with Hole. For as much shit we throw at Sting at least he never tried to resurrect The Police without Stew and Andy. It might have been very easy for him to cash in on the name that way without the two real talents in the group :-)
I know that they are like brothers and even Sting wouldn't have dared try to pull that off. But in an alternate universe, he could've tried it. I also know this post is pretty stupid. But, it's Friday afternoon, the boss is gone and I am bored...

It wouldn't sell as well as the other bands you mention.
There are as many Stewart Police fans as Sting Police fans.
The people who buy Sting playing lute don't really care about the other musicians on the recording.
People buying Police music can't wait to hear what piece of Stewart's kit will start of the new LP!!!

Sting without the heartbeat that Stewart gave to the music would sound a lot like Last Exit (see Fool in Love to hear the fate So Lonely almost suffered without Stewart's help).

Guess you never went to a 'Broken Music" show.

I agree with you.
I think three of them are good persons.
None of them are The Police alone.
But the only way to rebirth the band is doing some new , together.

It´s becoming boring, isn´t it?

If you're asking me... that whole 'Broken Music' was more of a warning then a title.
Sting's music was broken on March 4th 1984 and never recovered.
I like Manu and David and all the others, but no Police fan bought any of those LPS/CDs because those good folks were on them...Broken Music indeed.

Oh my god no!! Dream of the blue Turtles and Nothing like the Sun are masterpiece! .Only after Nothing like the sun Stingo has 'turned off' his talent.

I'd actually argue that The Soul Cages was Sting's finest solo effort...
Then again, Sting himself said only ten people liked that album. I guess I'm 10% of that population. It's the ONLY Sting solo album that I still listen to.

Sorry can't keep my mouth shut on this....I saw two shows and actually own a pro shot dvd of "Broken Music"...the tour was ok...However next to "The Police " I thought it blew chunks.

Josh Freeze is such a freaking hack!!!!!!....."The Soul Cages Tour" rocked!!!!!

Broken Music is almost as bad as The Orchestra Shit he is doing now...please give me a break ....I am so staying home...Sting knock yourself out. But let me tell you this, if you keep putting out this bull crap ...you shall continue to lose fans by the droves.

And about "The Soul Cages" I am one of the 10%...in my humble opinion the best record he ever put out post Police.
