BEN HUR LIVE Gelsenkirchen and Vienna cancelled

http://www.art-concerts.de/sprache/en/

"The BEN HUR LIVE show dates scheduled for 5th/6th February 2010 in Gelsenkirchen and 9th /10th February 2010 in Vienna are cancelled.

Due to an external file of bankruptcy, ART CONCERTS GmbH, producer and promoter of the show can't guarantee the realization of the performances.

We plan to perform new shows on 21st /22nd May 2010 in Gelsenkirchen and on 24th /25th April or 26th /27th May in Vienna with a new company founded by investors in order to satisfy ticket holders. This is the highest motivation of everybody involved.

Cancellation and refunding of tickets for performances in Gelsenkirchen are legally not possible before nomination of a liquidator and unrealistic due to illiquidity.

Ticket buyers from Vienna will be informed separately, as we are still in negotiation with the local ticket dealers.

In this respect we would like to ask you wait for reactivation in order to see the show.

We ask you to desist from inquiry directly to the ticket dealers, as only ART CONCERTS is currently dealing with ticket cancellation.

Please read also the separate letter to our ticket holders.

We would like to apologize to all concerned parties for this development."

Can't say I'm surprised, but it's interesting to see someone else is taking over. I think. What a confusing cancellation.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Huh? Does this mean the Ben Hur people have gone belly up? I tried to go to the Ben Hur Live website and it redirected me to the site for Art Concerts, which I noted is also a Franz Abraham production. All this is sehr confusing and I'm guessing not sehr gut at all.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

Talking of the Ben Hur show, I couldn't attend any of the european concerts and so I couldn't get Stewart's CD which was sold at the different shows. Could someone 's going to the future shows buy a Cd for me ??? Will pay postage fees and price of the CD. Thanks

oh that *is* such a shame, I really enjoyed this show and hoped that others would be able to as well, I think with more investment it could have had bigger advertising and then got people in the door and bums on seats, although I spoke to lots of people who said "oh I would have loved to have seen that but the tickets were too expensive" so it may just have been a victim of recession, as like most people I am being far more picky about which shows I attend this year, how many and how far - just due to funds...

Curious and confusing, indeed.

So basically the only shows which actually took place were in England and Germany, yes? Everything from Milan onwards was postponned/canceled/who-knows-what?

If that's the case I can sort of imagine why the company has filed for bankruptcy...sounds like a major cock-up. I hope somehow that those who bought tickets for those later shows are eventually able to get their money back if they never happen, but it can be tough in bankruptcy situations...

If there are SC fans in that lot I'm sure they will want those tickets for posterity's sake. They are probably mourning more for the lost opportunity than the $$$. That would be me, at least.

Well, not disagreeing that the missed opportunity sucks, but those tickets weren't cheap, either. I wouldn't like throwing away 80 or 100 Euros or so and just chalk it up to having a ticket stub to a show that never happened.

I'd actually been contemplating making plans to see the UK shows that were supposed to happen in January and am just damned glad now I didn't commit the money to tickets, airfare, etc. for it. And I feel bad for folks who may have bought tickets on good faith that they could now get really screwed over on.
