Sting playing for Haiti

Sting playing for Haiti

I picked it up halfway through "Driven to Tears" with an interesting backing group.
Too cool to calypso, too tough to tango, to weird to watusi

It's a decent version, although much less rockin' with ?uestlove on drums.

I'm sure this'll be on Youtube in no time flat, or I'd offer to post my Tivo'd version of it.

Also: Ringo answering phones!! OUTSTANDING!

Very nice. Thanks for the link, Syling. (Since this is for charity, I won't bitch about the brass.)

Thanks to MariahH, I learned that ?uestlove had himself a moment earlier today when he realized his part in the show (http://twitter.com/questlove/status/8077767141):

Priceless.

Thanks for the clip, Syling. That performance was, of course, the one part of the special that I missed. I'm glad I caught it here.

I think this version worked well given the event. And, like DM, I'm not going to complain about the brass because, honestly, when was the last time you saw a tuba player rock out that hard?

Is the beard on ebay yet ?
The guitarist's sound reminded me of the old song "Popcorn", only played much much faster...

The Roots are amazing. I really loved the way they played together. Although, I'd shit my pants if I found out I was playing the SC part too.

I liked the performance very much, and an appropriate song as well. Can't help it when he does an oldie! :P

They style reminded me of his work circa 1990/91, similar to the the Timothy White sessions (the absence of an audience heightened that atmosphere).

It was nice to see him shaven again. That beard was frightening.
