Stewart Copeland on Howard Stern

Stewart Copeland on Howard Stern

Postby Bob from NJ on 15 Jan 2010 03:15

Whelp...after years of promising (re: threatening) to digitize some audio of a Stewart Copeland appearance on Howard Stern in 1988, I FINALLY put it together tonight.

I think I have about 60 mins worth of audio - and it's apparently not the entire segment because I distinctly remember parts of the conversation that are not on this tape. (Or maybe Stewart was actually on another time and I have another tape laying around somewhere).

A little about the interview...it took place at Abbey Road studios in London (I believe) in August, 1988...Stewart was a guest with some girl Mandy who was married to Bill Wyman when she was 13. After she leaves (rather angrily), singer Louise Goffin (Carole King's daughter) comes in and joins Stewart and Howard.

There are some interesting and funny moments on here...Not all of it's great and of course Howard isn't everyone's cup of tea. But it is pretty rare audio, as I don't think it was ever replayed in a Best-Of situation. Maybe our Lord Stewart hasn't even heard it since :?:

Anyway...would anyone want to recommend a good, free site to upload this stuff if anyone wants to download it? I'd rather not YouTube it.

I would love it. Stern is not my cup of tea, but it would be hilarious to see how our Maestro faces him. 8)

P.S. Megaupload?

Hi Bob,
has the upload already finished?

When trying to download I get an error message that the file(s) is not available at the moment.

Cheers,

I'm wondering if it can only download to one user at a time...Because it some times tells me the file is temporarily unavailable and other times, it is available.

Oh well...if anyone has a better suggestion of a place to upload the two files, I'd be glad to.

Same here ...temporary unavailable, but this depends on a number of factors. I'm patient and will try until I succeed. You did everything right, Bob. THANKS! 8)

Maybe someone could upload an additional copy of the first part?

I got the second part just fine last night but still can't get the first...

Oh and thanks, Bob!

Finally got both parts to download...

...must say that may have been my favorite version of "Every Breath You Take" ever, lol!!!!

I have some very vague, dim memory of hearing this broadcast when it first aired (I do enjoy Howard Stern in limited quantities), so it was great to get to hear it again. Thank you again, Bob!

Also, I think the funniest damn thing about the program is Stewart geeking out over Howard's sound effects machine, lolololol....

I like how pissed Stewart gets after Howard's comment about throwing him out like Sting...It's like everything literally came to a screeching halt.
