Personal Request, OT

A bit along the lines of moonstone, except not me/myself.
My very active and healthy 86 yr. old Dad has suddenly developed a strange shortness of breathe during exertion.
My 45 yr. old best friend has gone in for a biopsy today/this morning after having an abnormal mammogram last week. This is 2 1/2 weeks before she and her husband are supposed to be leaving for Northern Italy for 3 1/2 months (they teach at U Tx San Antonio arch. school and this part of a semester in Italy program). They've no family there, her mom is out of the loop, and her 78 yr old Dad back in Virginia is dealing w/ the after effects of his housefire (last fall). So, for both but especially her, any Good Thoughts/Prayers, and hopefully the wisdom for me to provide the right sort of support, even tho' I'm way up here in Ohio......her husband also has a bunch of last minute university minutiae in all of this, the timing here is so rotten. Well, this sort of thing is never really good, but ya' know.......
Thanks folks.

63 Falcon, you are a kind, sweet and lovely person and you will help your friends and family through their problems because you love them and they know that. When you're up to your neck in bad luck it always helps that people love you doesn't it? I know it's helping me.

I'm sending you and your loved ones lots of positive thoughts and good wishes to get you all through this difficult time.

Hey thank you all, folks. I told my best friend that the SC.net has her in their Good Thoughts and she got a chuckle AND said a big Thank you! to everyone. Her procedure was like "......being in an alien abduction science experiment!" (she & I are both huge star trek fans, esp. original). Luckliy, none of MD's had HUGE eves and extra-big heads!!!   Laughter is best medicine.....
ltwoman, my friend is a VA Beach native, so thnx to a fellow Virginian!

Then she'll do fine! You tell her I said so. Let me know if there's anything I can do.
