Stewart and the penguin

So I'm cruisin' the internets at 2 AM instead of sleeping and I come across this site called the traveling penguin. Some guy in Vancouver has this wooden penguin statue that accompanies him around the world and has its picture taken with all sorts of people. It seems to have attended a lot of rock concerts. In Nutter speak it's a kind of black and white, three dimensional Flag. Anyhow, right around the time DM and Mo were putting the final touches on the Flag (while being unaware of its impending wanderlust), guess who agreed to a pose with the traveling penguin. Yeah-huh. I remember seeing this photo before as someone's avatar. I think it was police fan's. However, I never knew the back story before. Here's the site:

You can find the picture with Stewart by scrolling about half way down the first page. He's somewhere between the penguin on a beach in Hawaii and the penguin at a wedding.

ETA: And once again Stewart is wearing a very cool jacket.

Makes you wonder about the intro the guy has when he approaches people to pose with his penguin.

That's correct. Pic was taken outside their hotel.

His look almost seems to say: what else must I do?!

According to stories posted on the site's blog, the penguin has a business card that the guy presents to potential posers. In one blog entry, he tells a funny story about how Gene Simmons refused to pose with the penguin. It seems everybody has a good Gene Simmons story.

Unquestionably the best "Blackmail Stewart" Photo ever.

When I learned about the penguin a while back, I'd hoped that the flag might get to meet it. Unfortunately, the two were in different places at the time, and I never had the chance to go back and explore the possibility. Would have made for such a great photo.

If that had come to pass, I'd have been overwhelmed by the awesomeness of such a photo. I'm a little overwhelmed just thinking about it in theory.

Maybe the penguin could meet Flat Stanley instead.
