Set Will Also Include The Clash, Coldplay, David Bowie, New Order, Pink Floyd, and others
Oct 16, 2009 By Michele Yamamoto

According to Norvic Philatelics (via NME) [links below], a set of 10 special Royal Mail stamps will be available early next year in the U.K. featuring the cover artwork of classic British albums. Included in the set are Pink Floyd's Division Bell, Blur's Parklife, The Clash's London Calling, Primal Scream's Screamadelica, David Bowie's The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head, Led Zeppelin's Led Zeppelin IV, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, The Rolling Stones' Let it Bleed, and New Order's Power, Corruption & Lies.

While the albums are considered classics for their content, the Norvic Philatelics site maintains that all of the artwork chosen based on its own artistic merit by the editors of three major U.K. music publications, graphic designers, and design writers. The final 10 were culled from thousands of prospective sleeves.

[I'll admit it: I'm not sure I know what the fuck Tubular Bells is.]
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

DM , Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield was released back in 1973 by "Virgin Records". It was Virgins very first release. The song was used in the horror film, "The Exorcist".

Andy Summers was part of a touring version of Tubular Bells tour when he saw the band Last Exit (including Sting) open the show in Newcastle. As was discussed by Andy in One Train Later.
